9 micron is a lot. The pink sheet below is 3 micron 🫥

Imagine it's 2026 and you are looking to build a new PC. Let's see... AM4 - check. DDR4 - check. 5800X3D - check. RTX 3060 - check.
And some say time travel is impossible🤔
In the Windows Task Manager, under "details", you can see if apps are running natively (Arm64) or with a wrapper (x86/x64). Interestingly, the only non-native apps are "MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe", "OfficeClickToRun.exe" and "AsusOLEDShifter.exe".
In Cinebench 2026 the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme wins with 6749 vs Strix Halo with 4031.
To be fair, Geekbench isn’t the best at comparing different ISAs.
Due to popular demand: Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme vs Ryzen AI Max+ 395.
At least in the naming department they both get the same result: “horrible”
Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme (front) vs Ryzen 7 5800X3D (back). The difference is crazy. And it’s laptop vs desktop too.
The A19 Pro is hidden in a secret compartment on the iPhone Air logic board. But with ac lot of convincing I was able to get to it. Will this chip power the MacBook Neo 2?
Taking apart newer iPhone logic boards requires you to heat up the PCB, because RF and SoC boards are a sandwich fused together with solder. It takes >150C and some patience. But the results are great 😍
I’ve taken apart so many iPhones with cheap tools, I thought I deserved an upgrade. Let’s see what this can do!
Working on some amazing die-shots from @fritzchensfritz.bsky.social. Crazy high-res too (as expected)!
A truly generational leap: iPhone 3GS logic board on the left vs iPhone 4 logic board on the right.
The new Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus is surprisingly good, with great gaming & productivity performance and efficiency. Increasing the Foveros d2d clk really helped a lot. ARL is actually good now. If only it wasn't the last gen for Socket 1851...

This is what peak productivity looks like 🚀
I get your point and you are correct. But if we get a "MBN2" next year with the A19 Pro from the iPhone 17 Pro, it will not only offer more raw performance, but 50% more DRAM. Which will increase overall performance by a lot. To a point where it might challenge a base M5.
At what point is the #MacBookNeo too powerful? Would a A19 Pro with 12GB be too close to the Air? Or do you think premium features (Force Touch trackpad, backlight keyboard, better screen, MagSafe, etc.) are enough differentiation?

The new Apple coaster arrived. Great product!
The new Apple MacBook Neo is powered by the A18 Pro, a mobile chip that is packaged using TSMC InFO-PoP. The DRAM sits on top of the SoC, it's a single, closed package. That's why the MBN comes with the same amount of 8GB DRAM as the iPhone 16 Pro. Same chip, same package.
Just a little joke. It was some AMD swag. A coffee mug and cookies.
Switch 3
Actually correct
What’s in the box?? #AMD
Microsoft's new Maia 200 is a massive chip with ~825mm² die size, that's close to the reticle limit! N3P is a guess, but I doubt Microsoft is using N3E in 2026. My initial analysis👇
Question: what chip is that? Hint: you might get sued if you say it ;)
