Just saw the Exit 8 movie and that shit ROCKED!!! New high water mark for game adaptations imo

Today’s my birthday. I’m 43 and full of excitement.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
A slow burn with stellar animation and art.
I couldn’t help but think about Cairn when I watched. Mountaineering being the obvious connection but more so in how it unpacks obsession and dedication; if you’ve ever stubbornly needed to finish something at high cost(s), this will resonate.
There’s not many emotional states that a warm salted bagel won’t fix.

Basking in some Creative Director privileges by using this yet-to-be-released art from STARSEEKER as my wallpaper.
This art of the ESS Starseeker mid-jump by Spencer is soooo damn good. 🤩

I prefer Capacities over Obsidian in how it utilizes a concept of “everything is an Object” and those Objects can be linked, referenced, and graphed.
Miro ➡️ Capacities has been a great flow for capturing ideas (game designs, art projects).
Visualize and map it out in Miro then move that over to Capacities for expanding on and detailing. Miro for the top down and Capacities for the bottom up.
Congrats to everyone at Hinterland 👏🏻👏🏻
Hearing the recording was so sad.
This one’s shaken me. We’ve flown Air Canada in to LGA a few times. There’s lessons here and a real sad bit to this is it’s not all on the ATC folks to learn it.
Welp, @starseekergame.systemera.net's next beta officially has
Best way to start your day is with a little ✨ destruction ✨
Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at some of the destruction physics we’ve been working on!
The map in STARSEEKER is *sick*

Starseeker will be part of the @iii-initiative.bsky.social showcase on April 9th 👀
Come see what we’ve been cooking up 🔥
We created the @starseekergame.systemera.net key art in @unrealengine.bsky.social allowing us to fully explore the scene and create this unique flythrough that captures the moment 🎬
Spencer built our key art entirely in Unreal Engine 5, something we’ve wanted to try for quite some time. It turned out amazing and is one of my favourite things we’ve ever made.
(The Miro board of thumbnails and doodles we did for this is Art in of itself. We’ll share it one day!)
Our life is dope and we do dope shit.
Working on video games about exploring the galaxy can yield some really fun change lists.

It’ll snow again before the season is over so I’m just soaking it in.
The air warms up for a day and I’m immediately nostalgic for my younger days; bike riding to Blockbuster Video to rent a PS1 and some games with money I earned from my paper route. Stopping for some Orbitz on the way home. Ooh, mom is going to Zellers, I’m going to check out the GI Joes.
Last week was a dream.
After years of doodling and noodling, seeing people dive into these planetary expeditions as a space station crew was incredible.
Huge thanks to everyone who tested and shared feedback; we are already refining and improving.
I am so proud of System Era.
Onward! 🚀
Thank you to everyone who participated in our second playtest! We had a blast making new friends and running around the ESS Starseeker 🚀
Didn't get a chance to join? Don't worry, we'll have more details on the public beta coming next month.
I’m still thinking about this game. It’s been days since I fully ascended.
Its incredible. Perfect.
Abbott & Costello on 130”.
I’ve seen all their movies, watching since I was a kid. Never did I think I’d see them on a big screen. Heaven. Spoiled, but heaven.
Her singular focus makes the ascent feel deeply personal, and the story asks questions that lead to an unexpected level of introspection.
I'm still left thinking about the questions it asks this morning and as I wrote this post.
What could have been a simple climbing simulator is instead a character study with an incredible amount of heart. Most of that is anchored in Aava, who is stubborn, taciturn, and I so incredibly driven.
Last night I rolled credits on Cairn.
Finishing this journey felt like closing a favorite book. It is a 10/10 to me and a game I will be carrying with me for a very long time.
The feeling I'm left with right now is it feels like a rare find.
One of my all-time favourites. What a loss. Catherine O'Hara RIP.
