We sure did. We’re horrified by the carnage in American social, cultural and especially environmental spheres. Safe climate, economic equity, affordable housing, free Medicare and respect for Indigenous peoples. That’s what we voted for in Australia.

Dutton’s Darstardly Denials.
Couldn’t agree more. What an utter insult to everyone impacted by these climate events - Dutton Deep in Denial.
The Maugean skate's "predicament is forcing ordinary Australians to ask whether it’s right to snuff out 40m years of evolution for a salmon bagel."

The ‘Cheaper Home Batteries’ program seems like a rare climate policy win that tackles both power grid emissions and cost of living concerns at the same time. reneweconomy.com.au/dutton-and-l...
This is worth a read, it's important. But, three key points are missing.
1. A dysfunctional, Murdoch-poisoned Fourth Estate.
2. We live in a plutocracy, where both major parties are captured by industry.
3. We haven't had Environment Ministers with spines.

The Beverly Hillbillies with faces replaced with Peter Dutton, Kirilie Dutton, Gina Rinehart and John Howard, plus David Littleproud. I’m exhausted after writing all that
Well, the first thing you know, old Pete’s a PM multimillionaire
Kin folk said, Pete, move away from there
Said, Sydney is the place you oughta be
So they loaded up the truck and they moved to Kirribilli

Nannas are calling for more climate action because extreme weather events result in higher costs for all. Native forest logging, health impacts of coal -fired power and our weak environmental laws were also on last week's agenda. knittingnannas.org/2025/04/01/n...
Great @nickfeik.bsky.social piece on how bad it is that both major parties are refusing to engage with the already-very-bad insurance crisis caused by the impacts of burning coal, oil and gas
"Premiums in disaster-prone regions have increased by up to 400%, posing a systemic financial risk"
That’s an embarrassing ad to begin with…
Thinking about a nuclear powered energy future?
Want to know what your power bills would look like?
Here ya go - plug in your current bill and see what you’ll be up for under Dutton’s nuclear scenario.

Crockett: "Down in Alabama, who's broke. Down in Louisiana, who's broke. I can go through pretty much the entire south and tell you that they're broke and rely on a lot of welfare from the government. To be perfectly honest, it is tax dollars from these big blue states...we're in the find out phase"
Good morning and Happy Thursday to everyone who agrees with General Milley that Americans do not owe our allegiance to a King, Queen, or a wannabe dictator. We owe our allegiance to the Constitution.
Fuck the nonsense trump says about being a king.
Hmmm
Heartbreaking
I couldn’t watch. What a nonsense it was.
Splitting up insurance companies is all well and good. But the overriding reason housing insurance premiums are going up is climate change.
After undermining all meaningful action to protect Nature this parliament, the PM has swallowed the salmon industry’s BS hook, line and sinker 🤯😥
The industry pays little in tax & is driving species like the Maugean Skate to extinction.

What to say…
instead of offsets funding bullshit schemes like this - what if they funded, oh I don’t know, A SWIFT TRANSITION TO CLEAN ENERGY?
