Doubt we'll be hearing about The Best Large Scale Game Award on the best Big Games podcast any time soon? Bravo!
15mm painted Persian Immortals
More Immortals, this time Essex; now on to some of the smaller contingents of the Early Achaemenid #Wargaming army.
Nice photo, love the backdrop and scenery!
Cheers indeed - looking forward to my retirement next year
Miniature figure painting, with light and whisky
A perfect way to end the day, switching off from work and painting for my #Wargaming
Still looking very tasty
Society of Ancients battle day saw 12 refights of Cunaxa, with both Cyrus and Artaxerxes coming to sticky ends. #Wargamng
Went to #ChillCon in Sheffield today and came away really appreciating what a great community #Wargaming is. Let's enjoy what we like and always welcome folk who enjoy other things. And yes, there is more than room enough for women in any form of gaming - or any other endeavour!
Persian Immortals in 15mm badly painted by an old man
After the Romans and a short break, Persian Immortals are mustering for my Achaemenid #Wargaming army. A mix of PSC plastics (here), Essex and Minifigs metals.
Painted 15mm Republican Romans
Varnished 15mm Republican Romans
Metallic paints done and based Republican Romans
... Tried varnishing THEN painting the metallics. Think it does work better for #Wargaming
Primed 15mm Republicans
Based for painting
Plumes painted
Flesh painted
Started painting more Romans with a cunning plan... #Wargaming
I'm a batch painter and have taken 2w to do a batch of 40 but I'm experimenting with smaller batches to give me fewer reasons to not sit down and paint.
WordPress might be worth a try
How long to crank them out? You always deliver good minis.
Wargame scenery houses, forts and a bridge and gully
New scenery for my #Wargaming, with a bias to Dark Ages
Spanish and Numidian light cavalry in 15mm
New Numidian and Spanish light cavalry for my mid Republican Romans #Wargaming
Mid Republican Roman legions in 15mm model form - work in progress
Sometimes when I'm focused on painting a unit I lose sight of the bigger picture. Mid Republicans still have a way to go but feels like I have enough for a decent #Wargaming battle now.
If you in the area on a Thu night then drop in, I'm sure they'll be delighted to see you! (although I'm new here so wouldn't know if you left under a cloud!)
15mm Romans of the mid Republic
The finished Blue Legion - probably SAD brought about by the clocks going back
15mm Romans without an extra paint step
15mm Romans with an extra paint step
So I got back from #Wargaming at Fiasco and set about finishing my latest Romans - but this time I took the plunge and added an extra painting step - which do you prefer?
Love the concept of leaving figures to mature before painting, makes perfect sense!
15mm Roman Republican command stands
New kids on the block - more leaders for the Blue legion, patiently awaiting their turn under the #Wargaming brush.
Roman leadership teams with unpainted legionaries behind
Some standards and musicians to make my Romans feel less leader less. #Wargaming
For some reason I saw this and thought of your esteemed publication's editor...
15mm painted miniatures
Thureophoroi pending shield designs and basing for my Republican Romans #Wargaming army.
Loved that game when it came out - some interesting ideas in it!
Love the casual Centurion in the background!
