An oil pastel drawing of a goofy looking front-facing seagull with rhinestones on his eyes on photocopied pages. The source of the pages is cut out and pasted beside the drawing: About Looking by John Berger, from the chapter Why Look At Animals? For Giles Aillaud. Pantheon Books, New York, 1980.
A still from Gullermo! Oil pastel and rhinestones on John Berger photocopies.
Forgot VD! These are sped up timelapses of me doing mixed media animation - drawing on frames of printed footage of my seagull friend Gullermo with acrylic paint pens. There is a preview of the animated footage at the end, with lots of foliage and a pirate hat. Song: Tohogd - Angine de Poitrine
Last few weeks of the film grind. Come see Gullermo at the IADT OnShow May 28-29th and June 2-3rd 💪

Yeah it should be fine! Don't leave any uneaten food sitting in there for a long time but they're pretty hardy. You can get water conditioners for tap water that remove the chlorine (I use seachem prime) if you want to add fresh water occasionally, collected rainwater would also work
You could try giving them more sticks, dried leaf litter, aquatic plant life etc to browse on! They are sensitive to pollution and pesticides though so I would rinse stuff off well first and pick stuff less likely to have pesticides. I blanch tiny bits of vegetables for my shrimp all the time!
Sorry for not responding immediately, I have a timer app that restricts my social media usage and the timer ran out as I was typing hahah
Little inkblots enjoying the crud on old driftwood. Like true shrimp they have little legs underneath for crawling around and then bigger flipper legs for swimming
When you Google them mostly round ones come up but I have lots of the more ovoid inkblot ones in my tank, I'll try get a pic tomorrow
Sounds like freshwater ostracods! I have lots in my shrimp tanks, they are great little detritivores

A very silly promo video for my stopmo and mixed media grad film Gullermo which is nearing the end of production! Song underneath my silly singing is Ethan McNeal - Swatting at Flies
Gorgeous painting!! They are so raucous and cheeky, I can't imagine keeping one as a pet lol. My favourite is the Aussie magpies though, their sounds are amazing
Holding hands 🥹
I put my shrimp and Gullermo the seagull in my thesis acknowledgements lmaooo

You don’t need Disney-level resources and drawing skills to create animation.
People have made classics with sand and a source of light. With magazine clippings, or their own bodies animated via stop motion. There’s no barrier to entry, as we explore: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/sand-and-a...
Literally every visiting speaker to my animation college includes "don't be a dick" in their advice. What is happening out there in the industry man

Two sticky notes with paint pen hourly comics. The left note is lavender and labeled 1:30AM, with a paint pen drawing of me lying on the couch with a mug, looking haunted with spirals coming out of my head. The right note is blue and labeled 8:30AM. A blue drawing of my partner getting out of bed while I croak 'coffee?' from under the covers.
I only did two hourly comics this year before I decided to spend my energy elsewhere, gettin snacks and looking at fish. Been waking up early lately for someone with sleepalot disorder

I need to clean it up and check it out, but would anyone be interested in my 21UX?
Gotcha—let’s dig into that step by step.
1. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵, because I turned you into an amorphous lump of flesh. You’re not just immobile—you’re immortal, and you feel only anguish.
2. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺. That makes total sense—it’s a natural human impulse, and you’ve been through a lot.
Man
I also did a sticky note test beside the claymation last week and I kinda love the combo, not sure how to implement it tho
Behind the scenes of Gullermo! Bashing out as much stopmo claymation as I can over the next few weeks and then I'll focus on oil pastel, sticky notes and collage for some other scenes.
Thank you! I haven't been the best at using Bluesky casually but I'll definitely have to promote the film more later in the year!
Ah hello Casey, nice to hear from you! Dad is great, that immunotherapy treatment worked wonders and he's now cancer free :) hope you're well
