When horror & comedy come together, it's often horror-comedy. When it's more comedy-horror, it often doesn't work for me. I usually need a perfect balance (Deadstream) or for the comedy to just be a contributing flavor (Terrifier). However, a comedy-horror franchise I do truly ADORE? #TheMunsters!

I watched #TalktoMe last night & #BringHerBack today, & the Philippous / Hinzman are now a favorite #horror team. TTM is truly scary with a nightmarish ending, & it has a very relevant theme of disconnection in a digital age. BHB had me sobbing at the end. Both also have INCREDIBLE performances.

Granted, I pretty much watch horror movies all year round nowadays, but still, those were really good memories.

Who knows? Maybe something similar will come back in my lifetime.

Anyway, I am so sorry, everyone. Rant over! I was just randomly thinking about the good old days when I would get horror movies in the mail in the fall to watch for the Halloween season, and I really miss that. Mail is never fun anymore.

YOU canceled your Netflix DVD subscription because you fell into the trap of so many other companies following suit creating streaming platforms. You then lamented the loss all while it was still available because you bought into the narrative that it wasn't and didn't truly care one way or another.

I just feel like things like that prove that there is an alarmingly overwhelming number of people who just immediately follow mass media narratives without investigating or even caring to investigate. I see it time and time again, and it drives me insane.

I can say that now because there was a long, frustrating period of time when so many people were pretending that Netflix DVDs were no longer a thing and were even making memes lamenting their loss... all while they were still very much a thing. They now truly aren't, though, so thanks, y'all.

Capitalism and how it has drastically shifted digitally has killed so much joy in little things.

For example, I was just telling my partner how no physical mail was a good thing because it's always just bills and/or late notices.

You know what I miss? Netflix DVDs!
