Feels good to flip over an omnibus for one of your favorite stories to find your own pull quote from a 2021 review.

"You can't blockade me! I blockade you!" Or some other 4th grade logic over global relations. nbd.
Home today after a hospital stay for my medically complex youngest. The school admin has already started messing with us regarding his missed work. Mind you, this kid is in 4th, and tests at a 12th grade level for almost everything. But yeah... those two days are gonna make him spiral, I'm sure.
"We spoke last week..." No, we did not. "You wanted to find a licensed contractor for some home improvements..." I am a licensed contractor. "Oh, then you know..." I know you're full of shit.
Is The Pizza Movie not just Harold and Kumar, but with the curly haired kid from Stranger Things?
Joe Gatto has decided he likes being paid more than not being paid. He will return to Impractical Jokers for season 13.
Watching the Artemis launch on a 75" flat screen with my kids in my living room. Old enough to remember watching the Challenger disaster in class, on a 12" CRT TV strapped vicariously to a top heavy rolling cart.
Dead certain that NASA scheduled this moon launch for today just to mess with Flat Earthers, and I applaud them for it.
What happened to summer vacation? My kids don’t get out of school until the end of May, and then go back two weeks into August. We used to get three whole months off, didn’t we?
And this exercise reminds me that the fastest way to get correct information on the web is by being confidently wrong. People not only come with the right answer, they come with receipts.
But now I’m also bothered that the two films don’t follow the same style guide.
Yeah. We figured it out. Memory is a weird animal.
I stand righteously corrected. The images are spot on for their on-screen appearance. I'm just old and cranky.
These are from the same manufacturer. The trio is supposedly based on the 1978 film, but so is that solo Bilbo. I don't understand why they didn't use the previous Bilbo mold as reference for the second set. This bugs me way more than it should.
RIPPLE EFFECTS is an Eisner & Harvey Awards-nominated Graphic Medicine series that explores life as a superhero with an invisible disability - available in print as a softcover with a foreword by Harvard Medical School’s @noethematt.bsky.social!

I've been home from Diecast SuperCon for an entire week, and I'm just now starting to feel like myself again. It's a lot to be "on" for 12+ hours per day for six days running. As much as I love my geeky communities, I'm a cave person. I want my chair, my bed, my routines.
The wildest thing from Diecast SuperCon was the live viewing numbers. I knew that Go Live Vegas was streaming our panels live, but I had no idea how big their reach was. The Mayans panel had over 4k viewers. That’s huge, but Mindy Cohn and Mackenzie Phillips drew 41k. Forty one THOUSAND. Mind blown.
Last weekend I was hosting Mayans and Fast and Furious cast members on panels in Vegas. This weekend, I'll be installing a garage door opener.
I've started watching Fallout. Zombie Baby Billy is my favorite. Is the game worth playing? I'm not usually into open-world stuff.
Wasn’t what I came in for, but the artist I had an appointment with called in sick today. I’ve been sitting on this one for a while, and today’s walk-in artist (Peeps!) does patches, so…
“This is what we signed up for. This is who we are.” Hanging with the homies from Mayans MC on yesterday’s featured panel at Diecast SuperCon. This is my real job.
Listen, officer. What do you mean Asogian botanists don’t count as passengers? That’s astrophobic.
I forgot that I had strapped Zrek into the front passenger seat for this ride to his new home. Just got the jump scare of my life when his arm moved in my peripheral vision. I wish I could say I learned from this experience, but I promise I will forget again.
One of the other editors sent me some messages last night about today's schedule. It's cute that they think I'm awake past 9 on a week night.

Absolute favorite set on the weekend.

And you know Danhausen is loving the comparison to Hector Guerrero's Gobbledy Gooker debut at Survivor Series 1990. That's the joke.
Had a blast last weekend at Innings Festival sitting down with Damian Kulash and talking about the absolute chaos that defines OK Go performances.
I wonder how long it'll take the 'Hausen haters to realize hokiness is the entire point. Gentle comedy, for sure, but that miserable little puff of smoke instead of blazing pyro, facing away from the hard cam to do his pop pose... all intentional. And hilarious.
@fanbasepress.bsky.social's #GeekyParentGuide by @travisadork.bsky.social will be returning this year w/ a renewed focus on “Bringing Stories into Action:” not only highlighting the themes within the stories we love, but demonstrating to our children how we can apply those themes in our daily lives.
