When I read "we desperately need a radically pro-technology leftist movement" I understand that to mean like "A Google for the Left" which doesn't make sense.
However, I think it reflects the free and open source software movement which has a mix of libertarian and socialist vibes.
Pro-social technology is a very, very fine needle to thread. I don't know if it's worth advocating for technology, rather than specific outcomes.

This works okay for dense areas on fleet vehicles, but normal people don't drive like uber drivers. Their cars sit idle 90% of the day, where they can charge casually.
Battery swapping was a fun idea ten years ago, but it doesn't scale because batteries are structurally part of the car, and if you account for the time to find a swap station, slower.
We're not far from 15 minute 20-80% DC fast charging. And home charging works fine.

Fixed! Some guy on youtube correctly identified a slipped belt, but did a bad repair.
On a bad jam, the timing belt can skip. Needle (at leftmost position) should cross the bobbin hook just as it starts to move back up.
Open bottom, remove the belt, align the hook and needle, put belt back on.
I can't find my angled screwdriver, will get there soon, I'm just worried about it becoming a tool I can't depend on, which crushes my desire to make things 🫠
The very light ripstop nylon is slippery, and I accidentally ran some through improperly, which causes the feed to fail
