Neil Duncan-Jordan to Keir Starmer: "Surely prime minister, the real issue is why, when Peter Mandelsons reputation was already known, was he ever considered for such a role"
Spot on.

Jewish trauma is real.
The Holocaust was real.
Antisemitism is real.
And none of that makes the genocide of the Palestinians and Lebanese any less real.
Easy.
They’re as stupid as the 37% of Americans who still support Trump.
All of you “they’re there for the taking” merchants will never learn.
Dear fellow Brits, from this Brit-American:
Please don't come here. It's dangerous. You may be targeted, arrested and unlawfully detained - likely courtesy of ICE - without access to legal representation.
I've told my family to stay away.
Please boycott America. 🇬🇧💙

We should be learning from other countries...
Christian Nationalism is a Cult of Convenience
I agree.
But in the sixth richest economy on earth, they shouldn’t be necessary.
And I say that as a volunteer myself.
If it succeeds in NYC, the most capitalist, tax averse city in the world, it can succeed anywhere.
Let’s see how it pans out.
But the political will on view is a refreshing change.
The overriding issue for me is that Mandelson should never have been in the frame for the job.
Who wanted him there that badly, and why?
That’s the real failure.
I find it fascinating that people are critical of those who dislike this country.
I would ask those critics if they can point to anything tangible that people should be proud of.
Can’t think of many examples myself.
If true, Olly Robbins has made an error that a Clerical Officer in the civil service wouldn’t make.
I suspect there’s far more to this than meets the eye.
The world would be an infinitely better place if people in power would be polite enough to keep their religious beliefs to themselves. That goes for ALL religions. There is simply no evidence that religion does more good than the trouble it causes.
Secularism now.
There is a way.
In fact there are many ways to FAIRLY redistribute wealth and help make society better for everyone.
All that’s needed is the political will - ie politicians with a backbone who are determined to govern for people above corporate interests.
I’m calling bullshit.
The moment the vetting decision was known, an official would have been instructed to write a formal submission informing Ministers of the decision.
If Republicans didn’t stick together, that deranged, septic, orangutan would be in prison.
Rich corporations, especially.
The idea that taxing them more (ie fairly) would drive them out of the UK is for the birds.
Why would any competent, profitable business want to give up its market share in the world’s sixth largest economy?
The wealthiest and most powerful men on Earth have decided they will happily kill us all, whether with nukes or starvation or disease, to keep from facing the consequences of their lifetimes of crime
The Epstein scandal, the warmongering, the worship of money, we're sick of it all
Time for change
The world watched as Israel razed Gaza to the ground.
Now, the world is watching as Israel razes Lebanon to the ground.
War crimes beget war crimes — and the failure to bring Israel to justice for genocide has emboldened it to destroy human life with total impunity.

While people at home are dreading the next energy bill landing in their inbox, fossil fuel bosses are filling their coffers
We need a permanent, tightened windfall tax to claw back every penny of excess profit being made on this crisis and put it towards supporting households
Let’s hope it’s nothing trivial.
Obscene.
Everything that is wrong with the world right there.
It would be worth it just to see Jamie O’Hara spontaneously combust live on Sky.
What a pathetic, morally empty man Blair is. The only question here is which grubby corporate interest paid him to say it. He’s certainly clever enough to know that it’s absurd, but he’s too greedy to resist the take.

Moyes will always have his detractors.
Personally, I don’t get it.
He’s taken us from relegation fodder to a slim chance of the Champions League, with a mid-table squad that includes two Championship standard centre forwards.
In Moyes I trust - don’t care what anyone else thinks.
Just as there were people who resisted the introduction of inside toilets, seatbelts, women’s votes, lead free toys etc Tice & his party are similarly reluctant to embrace what most people can clearly see is needed. Unimaginative, regressive, fact averse idiots.
Let’s never let them run our country.
The Uncivilised States of America.
Example No 6,487.
Corporate Welfare.
UK Govt to give £380m grant to Tata battery factory in Somerset.
The Govt isn't taking an equity stake in return, won't receive any dividends. It isn't a loan and isn't repayable.
Political parties demonize human recipients of welfare but hand free money to corporations.
Zack Polanski calls for UK to withdraw trade agreement with Israel after strikes on Lebanon
Israel is a rogue state and our government should treat it as such.
Our Government should have suspended diplomatic and trade relations long ago but if not now, when?
Who’s going to remove him?
By what means?
When will it happen?
Unless you can clearly answer each of these questions, just carry on tutting and wringing your hands.
The Uncivilised States of America is an international embarrassment.
