I loved writing this. I could’ve written so much more about @stevechalke.bsky.social, who I found truly inspirational.

“I’ve got to leave because I’ve got to set up a school and a hospital and a house.”

Now that’s mission-driven!

The Chinese get it (and it's aligned to their thinking I guess). Caving to Trump will only make you weaker when the next demand comes, and it will come.

It's about dominance and power. The liberal rules based order (however flawed) is dead. Europe needs to recognize this and act accordingly.

Mining firm withdraws plan for UK’s first deep coalmine in 30 years Move ends bid for site near Whitehaven, Cumbria after planning permission was quashed by high court

So ends a battle that should never have had to have been fought. The story of this mine is one of fundamentally dishonest arguments supported by dishonest politicians, finally put to rest by heroic people who should never have had their time wasted on this.

‘What we see are wasted lives’ A rare interview with Ofsted's illegal schools team

Schools in open fields. Children bullied, ridiculed and hit. Teachers already under police investigation.

In a rare interview, Ofsted's illegal schools team spoke to me about the horrors they've witnessed and the taxpayer money funding some of their worst cases

Great to hear school payment provider sQuid has dropped its £10 refund “fee”. Parents should get their money back before the new term…

Thanks to those who tipped @schoolsweek.bsky.social to the story a few weeks ago, and the outlets that picked it up. Shining a light really makes a difference

I had a prostate examination. It wasn’t pleasant but it was quick and minor.

The consultant talked about how many people my age haven’t had one and should. So I said I’d casually mention it in case it encourages others to.

So I am. And also I’m posting it on Bluesky. Consider contacting your GP.
