S3, so 14/15 years old.
They are identifying a range of questions for knowledge statements, calculations, & problem solving.
They get some time to come up with rules & make the board. Then they’re onto questions & making hard ones usually forces them to learn definitions & do styles they don’t like.

I get my pupils to design revision board games. They come up with a board game design and rules, and also questions and answers for the board game. They then get to play their board game and the other board games later in the session.

I love the principle of learning from mistakes.
In my class my pupils are challenged so they fail.
It’s their First Attempt In Learning.
By learning from that failure, future success is earned, resilience is gained, and motivation springs.
