Which, the more I think about it, is probably less of a "smartass comment" and more of a "yeah, probably gonna happen."

Of course some AI agents will refuse to pay and find ways to use the software anyway, resulting in the creation of literal software pirates.
Of course, some agents will refuse to pay and just find ways to use the software anyway, leading to the inevitable rise of literal software pirates...
That's super effed up.
10/10. No notes.
Temu comics: Larry Garson's Far Side.
Historically speaking, this _is_ how the Cat Distribution System works...
I'd worry about the rest of the capsule if the engineers that designed it didn't consider there would be circumstances when it would be reasonable to assume that the seats, intentionally or not, were going to be used as toilets...
I guess the silver lining there is that you exercised sound judgement in putting it off?
There is definitely that category of "I'll need at least an uninterrupted hour to deal with X so there is no point in trying now."

I assume you've floated Discworld?
Not a series, but discreetly educational:

Well now I feel fluent :)
It is nice to see a practical explanation for the oddly specific subjects used. TBF using the same nouns does simplify things when one needs to pay attention to location and grammar, but it makes me wonder what other oddly specific things other languages would use.
Ah. I see the subtle logic in Duolingo in not teaching the word 'clear' yet, since my clear umbrella will go missing, and if I have a clear umbrella at any point it probably wasn't mine to begin with :)
Every time something goes missing I keep hearing "It was _JUST_ HERE!". And the looking in increasingly ridiculous places is spot on too.
I'd read that a while back and liked it. I'm thinking this must be the 'pile of stuff' model mentioned 2 min in to this George Carlin routine:

K shaped economy, for sure.
Where is it? Whose is it? What color is it? How many are there?
I can only conclude that Japanese umbrellas have a tendency to slip in and out of dimensions, like socks in the dryer, except it can be a two way trip....
My wife and I have gotten an absolutely unreasonable amount use out of "Balls from Hell, you sh*t twins!"
I like to think that language lessons teach something about the culture.
For example, if you're learning French or Spanish, you know that absolutely everything is going down at the library.
So I'm now discovering that Japan has a Heisenbergian level of uncertainty about all things umbrella.
Here it is:

Damn. And because it's omiyage, I'd expect there's no option to toss the packaging to compact any of that stuff down to fit more in. Still, as specific gifts go, that's reasonably affordable.
The funniest stuff always has to have an element of truth in it, and that show was so very, very relatable. (Well, at least to those of us in tech.)
Those bags are a thing too. It made the news that people were lined up outside Trader Joe's like Taylor Swift tickets were going on sale ,waiting for a new drop of bags.
I'm having trouble picturing weird looks in a Trader Joe's here. The staff is from all over, and it's an unusual mix of people with money getting fancyish stuff, and people on a budget doing selective shopping. Their eggs/dairy section is a lot cheaper than anything else around here.
If they've got it. It may be just a Bay Area thing. it's really good for breakfast sandwiches or toasted with cream cheese.
Speaking of, Trader Joe's sourdough is apparently a regional thing. I'll be visiting my son on the East Coast and half of my luggage will be edible.
Seems legit. Now this comes to mind:

Locality does make a difference. In the 90's (so pre-online ordering anything) my wife was visiting a family on a farm in france and asked about bringing a host gift.
Showed up with 3 pounds of Reeses Peanut Butter cups which were a _massive_ hit.
Yeah, home batches may be the next option. I'm just surprised how hard it's been to find. Since the original was a store brand and not some exotic artisanal limited run.
I'd stocked up and by the time I finished the last jar it was 3 years past its 'best by' date, but I figured eff it. It's jam. Staying fresh forever is kinda it's thing.
A regional supermarket had this raspberry/blackberry jam that was the right mix of tart and sweet for PB&J. They stopped making it and I've yet to find anything comparable.
