The cortisone shot in my shoulder has worn off and it sucks.
Follow up appointment with the orthopedist scheduled, yay!
The last day of June, way less yay!

(also, my phone really thought i wanted to write about Samuel Bikes)
My hold for the Thud audiobook came up finally, and I am very happily listening and remembering how much i love His Grace Sir Samuel Vimes.

To Whom It May Concern,
I'm returning to the use name of Lee Alder.
You'll still see credits for me as Ash Alder or Ash Seguinte, but future work will go back to the usename of Lee.
Thank you for making note.
All other details remain subject to change without notice.

Hm. The brain has decided it's time to go into be-mean-to-me mode. Come on, guy. We've got like 35 minutes and then it's the weekend. We can do this.
Also I was apparently sleeping wrong, so both of my shoulders got too stiff to move and i’ve had to go grab pain meds.
But. Let’s see if we can resume sleep now.
I had to wake myself up from the most ridiculous stress dream/nightmare about information literacy & a conservative group pretending to make inclusive, psa-style movies at a high school in order to get footage proving the blue-hair-pronouns kids are a threat to society.
It was very silly yet tense.
Today has been a significant improvement from yesterday. Mild headache, reasonable degree of disconnection from reality.
Wrote a decent chunk of DG2-6, AND some TaP. Am bouncing around between things at will right now, b/c I don't /need/ to be locked in on any one thing. Which is nice.
I’ve been doing pretty well with migraines lately, which is excellent, but the ones i do get destroy my ability to write coherently or fluidly for at least a couple days, which is not.
Yesterday was a migraine day & today is semi-migraine, semi-recovery & I feel useless, but you know what? I finished a script, did social media promo for a show, & got production mechanics set up for another one.
Not what I /wanted/ to be doing (writing DG2) but things that needed doing nonetheless
Want yet another cool thing to listen to in May?
Ohhhhhhh.
Nightmare headache just hit.
/That's/ why.
I am so incredibly tired & I do not know why.
I will say, at least, it's physical, body tired not depression or burnout tired. I'm /hoping/ it's just that I'm due for my monthly migraine injection, so the body is wearing itself out fending off the headache.
But heaven, I just want to go back bed.
You are a nice person and this is a nice thing to say.
It is /almost/ out!
Two website buttons, each with a background of Turkish tiles in blue, orange, and white. The top button reads "Listen" and the bottom button reads "Chapters"
Something exciting is on its way.
Watch this space.

Yeah, i’m planning to make a dinner this week mostly because my boyfriend’s cat likes it. So what?
I am sitting here unable to do anything others than make noise and cannot understand how politicians who could literally just go stand in a building and refuse to leave till something is done are /also/ just making noise.
I'm the daughter of an Army paratrooper who refused orders during our illegal invasion of Vietnam back in the day. He went to LBJ military jail.
Dad taught his girls this: "Just following orders" is NEVER any excuse for anyone who's complicit in war crimes. You MUST refuse heinous orders.
…I’m a really good writer.
It’s one of my all-time favorite books, but yeah. Damn.
I think I’m about due to re-read Feed.
TIL what a clogyrnachau is!
I am not generally one to want to try to write in specific poetic forms, but this one intrigues me!

I push back at it pretty frequently, and can get through it about 90% of the time, but it means that the first big chunk of some media is colored by the brain screaming PEOPLE HAVE TOLD US WE WILL ENJOY THIS AND EVERYONE ELSE ENJOYS IT AND THEREFOR WE WILL NOT GODDAMNIT.
And then I do, anyway.
I wish I wasn't so strongly driven to avoid media a ton of people enjoy & recommend.
It's not an elitist thing. I think it's an offshoot of the pathological demand avoidance, & a part of my brainstuff I would /really/ rather not have.
I asked for recommendations! Let me take them! Please!
Alright, the ghost town thing didn't end up happening. It said the road was open, but apparently that meant only the paved road, not the dirt bit.
Still, I ended up driving 3 hours in to the middle of nowhere, hiking for an hour, then making myself cry writing poetry.
Excellent, excellent day.
