8 weeks now since surgery and recovery is going well. Have been out of the sling completely over the past week and doing active movements for about a week and a half. Feeling more normal but still not supposed to lift more than 2lbs. Plan to start lower body workouts again this week.

Folks... I ain't trying to scare anyone or induce panic (nor should you panic!) but I'm gonna give you some unsolicited advice that you may not wanna hear and you can feel free to ignore it:
Save as much money as you possibly can right now.

Plano, TX 10 day forecast
98° on the 3rd day of spring? We can’t have nice things. #weather #climate #forecast #spring
Had a post-op follow yesterday, 17 days after surgery. Progress is going well enough that I’m now out of my sling when I’m at home. PT is going well too, probably because I’m sticking to doing the homework. Looking forward to adding more range of movement next week. Also no longer wearing XL shirts!

She’s great! She met us at the bar after we told her about it at a fan expo.
Trump wants to decide the Republican Senate primary in TX and take away his base’s choice. I would not be surprised if he offered Paxton a job to get him to drop out. He has to offer something, unless he’s got blackmail as I suspect he has on others. #texas #elections #primary
It was strange to have an actual choice in an election for once. Regardless of who wins the Democratic TX Senate primary, looking forward to voting for them in Nov. I do wish we could have them both though. #texas #elections #primaries
I’ve realized this is as much a mental battle as it is a physical one. I’ll start back at work tomorrow, but limited to using my laptop in my lap. I’m going to try to post about my progress here, so I can look back at it later when I may be feeling stuck. #surgery #shoulder #rotatorcuff
I took the week off from work and have been resting and recovering. I began physical therapy on Friday, and was surprised at how much range of motion I have to start with. I have appointments scheduled for the next 6 months. Apparently a full recovery could take 10-12 months.
Last Monday I had rotator cuff surgery at the Baylor Shoulder Center in Dallas. Although we were at the hospital for a long time, the surgery itself was short and went well.

The “prosecute the former regime at every level” candidate has my vote in 2028.
It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad.
The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.
Never imagined creating an account on Harlequin.com (romance publisher), but here we are. #booksky #heatedrivalry
Decided to do some major decluttering going into the new year. Letting go of a few major purchases is not normally my thing, but I’m not hating it now that we’ve almost finished. #declutter #newyear
If a friend or family member has a good experience with a specialist, would you trust your doctor (who never actually used the specialist), or your friend/family? I literally just did this.
Bookshelf containing the Dungeon Crawler Carl series of books
Gave into the sale at @barnesandnoble.com and picked up the hardbacks of the DCC series. I have some reading to do next year. 📚🤓 #booksky #books #reading
My MRI diagnosis for rotator cuff injury
Waiting on my ortho to get my MRI results and tell me his plan for fixing me. Hoping recovery isn’t too bad and I can be back to normal by next summer. #mri #shoulder #weightlifting
You know you’re old when you’re visiting an Orthopedic doctor on your birthday. 🤷🏼♂️
But I found it Amazon Kindle and read the digital version while on my last vacation.
It would make a great movie. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. If you like video games, or if you like post apocalyptic novels with a huge sense of humor, this one is for you.
I happened across it at @barnesandnoble.com and an enthusiastic staff member basically convinced me to read it. I didn’t buy it immediately because I generally don’t buy hardbacks. I am waiting for the next printing of trade paperbacks coming out soon.
Hardback book titled “Dungeon Crawler Carl” by Matt Dinniman
Can fully recommend Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman @mattdinniman.bsky.social! It’s the first book I’ve read in a long while that was able to keep my interest and was hard to put down.

I’m one of your constituents. This past week, Trump announced 100% tariffs on some medications. This is a direct tax on people who may need life saving drugs. For my family, it raises the question of whether a medication which insurance currently covers at $25 will suddenly not be covered, or become completely unaffordable. Imagine if your family is suddenly facing an out of pocket $14-15k/mo bill for a necessary medication because of a tariff. This is the exact situation our family will be in if the tariff ends up applying to us. I will come out and say it. Lack of action in Congress by you and your colleagues on this issue means you are directly contributing to hardship and the potential deaths of thousands of Americans. Congress holds the power to enact tariffs and reverse this. It’s one thing to encourage investment in the US and another to punish hard working Americans across the country because of business decisions made by the 1%. You have the power to fix this, and I believe the American people expect you to.
Unless regular Americans speak up, even if it doesn’t affect you, this will continue. What good is one letter? Not much. I encourage you to write your own. Share this if you wish.
This is a letter I am sending to our congressman and senators. If you are unaware, Trump announced 100% tariffs on some medications. While it is still unclear what the impact will be, at best it is out of touch with the reality of people needing life saving drugs.
Are people like this just playing dumb or are they really that dumb?
