Yeah, it's not a minimum wage job haha. The pay is alright-ish. Maybe slightly lower than my previous job, but I'm basically guaranteed annual raises, so after 1 year I should be on par again.

Plus the benefits are overall solid. Good pension and all that. Travel reimbursement.

I spent the last few years watching AI slowly take over my old job (in translation), and spent over 10 months in unemployment, slowly consuming not only my savings but also my sense of self-worth.

The past two years have been the most stressful of my life.

Thought I'd play some Star Fox 64, made it all the way to the penultimate stage only to get mercilessly pounded into oblivion by Star Wolf.

I don't mind it per se. I actually prefer it. It was just really jarring haha.

I like doing as much as possible in the target language (less interference). But if I hadn't also done many, many hours of independent listening via comprehensible input, I'd be struggling heavily right now.

It literally went from the occasional "completa la frase" to explaining the difference between 'desde' 'hace' 'desde hace' etc. using absolutely zero English whatsoever.

I'm managing, but only because I've already done so much independent listening (250+ hours). It's fun, but hard lmao.

I just hit a massive difficulty spike halfway through the B1 section of a Spanish resource I've been using where, all of a sudden, *everything* is in Spanish.

All the grammar explanations, all the new vocab, everything. And the audio clips became much faster too. Challenge accepted, I guess? XD
