Here's some bugs I've found while going through some stream samples-- both are caddisflies, but different species weave different kinds/shapes of casings to protect themselves!

Convinced we have the same feed. Been getting so much of both of these.

*𝘮𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘴 is a species of sunfish. The Longear Sunfish. Because the name means "big ear."

I love old field guides and drawings!!! Half the time, the scientific names have changed, and it's fun to see how. For example, the fennec fox is now 𝘝𝘶𝘭𝘱𝘦𝘴 𝘻𝘦𝘳𝘥𝘢-- 𝘔𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘴 is a genus of sunfish!
