Twins blew up the bullpen at the trade deadline and did nothing to address it all offseason, so now they're turning to starter prospects for help.
Last week, when the Twins called up starter prospect Andrew Morris for bullpen help, I wrote that it would be a test run for doing the same with Kendry Rojas and Connor Prielipp later this season.

Twins got swept by the Reds despite starters Joe Ryan, Taj Bradley, and Bailey Ober allowing three earned runs in 18 1/3 innings for a combined 1.47 ERA.
Bullpen and defense were rough, and the lineup went 6-for-35 (.171) with runners in scoring position.
Back to .500 at 11-11.
Derek Shelton pressed his luck by asking Andrew Morris to work the ninth inning as well. And it backfired.
Pretty clear the Twins were down to only Garrett Acton as an available alternative, but that's a difficult spot to put Morris in for two innings.
Royce Lewis has homered in both rehab games with Triple-A St. Paul, in case there was any doubt about him rejoining the Twins.
Yep. Andrew Morris just pitched a scoreless eighth inning to protect a two-run lead in his second relief appearance.
It's a credit to Bailey Ober that he can still be this effective throwing in the high 80s.
Ober held the Reds to one (unearned) run over 6 1/3 innings despite his fastball averaging just 88.7 mph.
He threw 63% non-fastballs and racked up 10 strikeouts, his most since 2024.
Brooks Lee, who has a 25th percentile sprint speed, was easily thrown out at the plate on the back end of a double steal.
Instead of two runners on for Trevor Larnach, the Twins ran themselves out of the inning.
Seemed particularly iffy to test Elly De La Cruz's amazing arm.
James Outman singled for his first hit of the season after starting 0-for-19.
Royce Lewis (knee) is starting at third base and batting second for Triple-A St. Paul today.
Twins and Saints are both off Monday, so it's very possible this will be Lewis' final rehab game before returning from the injured list.

Five innings of one-run ball, with a career-high eight strikeouts and one walk.
Prielipp, the Twins' reigning minor league pitcher of the year, now has a 2.30 ERA with 22 strikeouts in 15 2/3 innings this season.
Why the Twins called up starter prospect Andrew Morris to their bullpen … for now.
Morris' (temporary?) move to relief could be a test run for similar decisions the Twins will face soon with prospects Connor Prielipp and Kendry Rojas.
