my main takeaways from this conversation: i think she’s being genuine, it really genuinely sucks it takes being hurt by your own hate to cause self reflection of bigotry, and even though she is reforming there’s no need to have to forgive her for her past actions given she’s harmed so many people

i joined matt bernstein to talk to ashley st clair, a mother to one of elon musks babies, who’s since exited the far right movement. we spent this time grilling her talking to her about her past bigotry and what made her change

it set in for me how big this was when i saw a real estate content creator in minneapolis make a video about how he was detained and targeted by ICE for following them to protest. this is hitting everyone in their community

this administration is actual real evil. how can anyone approve of this

The fact i gotta watch these awards to get a taste of what E3 used to be is crazy

I dont really care how people think since I usually tweet into the ether anyways.

But seeing everyone so upset or emotional for these sorts of things will always make me feel a tad odd. Okay to have emotions about these things but nuance shows you this aint worth the emotions high key.

Was it exciting in the past? Of course! When games you play get recognized, its always a good feeling.

But since even last year and a bit of 2023, I havent had the same feeling about things moving forward with TGA. BUT Im one guy of course.

This is why most of us around my age dont put much stock into music award shows and such. Its simply too ridiculous to weigh opinions of art and determine what is definitively the best.

Games as a medium should be treated the same but every year, people still tune into TGA.

I've historically never cared for award shows and last night, based on reactions, has shown me that I wasnt wrong for that opinion.

Like most award shows, people sweep up awards and it becomes less of a spectacle and more of a popularity contest as it was intended
