nothing's quite scratched that alternate history itch quite the same way as classic AC did π it leaned into all the conspiracy theories and asked people to believe that every single mythology out there was true and all under the same sci-fi alien blanket.
...yet players rarely seem to think that imaginatively and the GMs I've seen don't design encounters with the environment and secondary objectives in mind. Does the creativity part of the game have any bearing when it comes to an optimization point of view?
I fear even having those options, for most players, would still feel "unoptimal" compared to just swinging your sword and attacking because, in my opinion, you already could climb on larger enemies, tumble and dive through, and otherwise interact with the environment even without explicit rules...
In a different iteration, perhaps the one happening right now outside the internet's gaze, they're living a (somewhat) decent life π
