Try to avoid pauses in the act. It’s a whole process. Move on from step one, two, three, injection, withdrawal, and completion. It minimizes the time you have to think about the actual injection.

Mine are only pen needles so nothing too long or a specific vein to put it into. The important thing is to try and relax your body and prevent tense muscles. Mentally it can be stressful, but separating your own body’s reflexes to stress from your anticipation of the needle is pretty key.
