I came to this conclusion after checking out film/book social media. I saw a person showing the racist language in "the bell jar" and some of the comments were very "oh my God this book is not meant to be comfortable" and "oh god the non literature students are reading it"

I get you need to "diversity your reading" or something but it comes to a point when I see a person mostly enjoy media that has triggering content just for the sake of it

People typically use this statement when a marginalized community says "I found the portrayal of my identity in this show book/movie/show/game uncomfortable"
