This was an absolute blast to do! And yes, it’s the sort of magnificent madness you should expect at FantasyCon.

A hardcover of Monsters in the Archives: My Year of Fear with Stephen King by Caroline Bicks
After a string of psychological thriller/domestic suspense reads, I’m thrilled that this new release has arrived and I’m jumping right in. Having been a Constant Reader for almost 30 years, I’m very excited to have this view of his process

A very over-the-top social media graphic featuring two books: The Haunting of Avis Lovelock and The Needfire, both by MK Hardy. The graphic has large pink glowing text reading "They're both gay!" and a variety of 'lesbian' graphics from canva.com, including several frogs, and a selection of brightly-coloured sparkles and stars.
In honour of #lesbianvisibilityweek, an updated graphic now that we've got 2 books on offer. Support your local lesbians and buy/pre-order these books this LVW!
Both available from @solarisbooks.bsky.social wherever good books are sold.
A text-heavy graphic on a blue background features a looped squiggle representing autism awareness
A question at @easterconuk.bsky.social had @davidgreenwriter.bsky.social pondering why neurodivergent creatives seek out other neurodivergent creatives: It’s all about acceptance.

Spaces for the TBR pile to get sorted into after I’ve read them 😂
Do you live in Scotland? Or are you curious about the upcoming election?

Just saw someone post in a friend’s FB group that they’re not keen on “representation in books” and had to but back the urge to ask them how a novel would work with no characters?
We are old-fashioned and still buy CDs, so the smaller shelves are ideal for those 😂
Book cover for The Shape of Monsters by CL Hellisen - the background is a deep red wall paper that looks like forest, and the title sits between the pronged antlers of a deer filled with the starry void.
In September, The Shape of Monsters will be out in hardcover!
I love that Tor went with "Will magic bind them or set them free?" as a longline.
If you know my writing, you know that magic is definitely gonna fuck them up, either way....
TONIGHT! If you're in London, come along and hear some amazing authors - a No1 bestseller and a thrilling debut - doors 6:30pm!
One day, my children will leave home and I will have space for a room full of books. Hopefully I’ll also have the funds to fill it 😂

Three tall ikea billy bookcases in black stand side by side along a wall painted deep green. In front of the bookcases are a black leather chesterfield couch and a coffee table with a partially complete jigsaw
We recently decorated the living room and added another bookcase, which pleases me no end. Look how pretty those books are! Why not join in and share a #shelfie?
Congratulations!
Delighted to find both Shroud and Lives of Bitter Rain on the Locus shortlist this year, amongst some amazing company!
One small step for a mage, one giant leap for mankind.

How do you maintain creativity while LIFE happens around you? This month's BFS 'expert' is @shonak.bsky.social, who manages to be the busiest woman in the world while cranking out awesome novels, running the BFS, dealing with chronic illness, parenting teens & a whole lot more. How does she do it?!
