I really love the character work too with Takumi and Mari

I don’t buy manga very often anymore atleast not physically but ever since I got the urge to play FireRed again I wanted to check this particular run

Man, Yakuza 0 -> Yakuza Kiwami -> Yakuza Kiwami 2 was such an insane rollercoaster

Such a pleasure to play though

I finished Yakuza Kiwami 2 and I am ugly crying

Next up I’m watching Faiz! Already started a few episodes and really enjoying it

I still stand by my initial comment when I finished the series, I wish it was more evenly paced

But on the whole I did enjoy my time with this series

The opening and insert songs go craaaaazy, I’ve not been able to listening to them

Asakura, oh man words can’t describe what I think of him. What an insane dude. He’s so much fun to watch though

I flipped back and forth between hell yeah I can’t wait to see more of him to omg they need to stop him

He really is the kind of character you gotta see in action

How can I not big up Goro. I love the way he compliments Kitaoka. I really like how the show plays with our expectations of him, he looks like a hardened individual, someone that would fit right at home in Like a Dragon games, but he’s got a softness to him that is super sweet

Kitaoka is fascinating to me, this show does an amazing job at showing what he struggles with but also shows selfish and self absorbed he is

And yet his actor is able to play the subtleties in his characters beautifully

But man watching his condition deteriorate was rough

I like Yui, seeing her unravel her past was really fulfilling but I do wish it was paced a bit more evenly. You do really get to see a great breadth of emotions from her

She really is the glue that binds Shinji and Ren together. Without her I don’t think Ren would be as cooperative as he became

Is Ren the first “edgy” secondary rider?

Ren was such an interesting Rider to follow, he had some amazing development. At first he was super cold and distance. You get the sense that we’re no lengths he would go to to get his wish granted. But time with Shinji changed him for the better. It was heart breaking watching Ren and Shinji fight

Shinji is fascinating, he’s a good hearted person and is our moral north for the show, trying to stop the fighting and trying to see how he can help the other riders so they don’t have to fight. But you can’t help everyone and you see how that wears him down and he is left without many option

Where Ryuki works for me is the character work. This show isn’t afraid to shine a light on a character and highlight, what makes them tick, as well as their virtuous and selfish sides

The action is a step up from Kuuga, it’s got some interesting choreography

As I watched it on TokuShoutsu YouTube I missed out on 60fps but I imagine that works in the show favour

Some of the cgi work is a little wonky especially with the contract monsters, I do wonder if mini’s were available

Let me start with easiest stuff first, I love most of suits especially our main 4, it melds the knights aesthetic very well with the Kamen Rider design language

And those survive suits are just so beautiful

The simpler belts and decks are really sleek
