I adore such subversive use of discarded #electronics and #hardware

Haha. I feel it was pushed aside by grellow. Haha.
Thank goodness for safety cones and candy corn.
Hm. Last year, I was investigating Tindie for my maker apparel store. But I got the feeling it was a forgotten asset, so not worth my investment in time and effort - maybe years ago, not now, and obviously not today.
Hope your new outlets work out.
Meant to add: my rebellion color
Blaze orange FTW
hand-illustrated stylized Raspberry Pi 5 with blaze orange highlights behind the phrase "This board's for you" in white text and blaze orange on "board's" - a play on famous beer commercial. Below, link to store greyandslate.com
Inspired by a popular beer commercial, but with a @raspberrypiorg.bsky.social twist.

Dang. Wish I had that space back in my day.
Alas, cannot make it, as I'm teaching a genAI lab class that day.
Have a great day and lots of curios visitors!
Released today, to help you answer persistent questions on what you're working on.
For #makers and #electronics #hardware #hackers.
Here: greyandslate.etsy.com/listing/4479...
And go check out my other designs while you're there.
Happy Friday - well, that's how it feels to me. Yesterday afternoon felt like a Thursday and today is giving me Friday vibes.
🤔
Yeah, been a krazy few days. Haha.

Hand-draw stylized illustration of the Adafruit QT Py M0 board, in minimalist white lines with blaze orange highlights, on a black background. The store URL greyandslate.com is below.
This week I've been illustrating some of my fave @adafruit.com boards. I'd previously done a few of their boards, but in silhouette. These new ones are in my usual style, with more detail.
Below, the venerable Trinket 5V, Gemma M0, and QT Py M0.
You don't need to be big to go big.
Enjoy.
Maker humor design with three parts, based on a kids song. Top line says "The wheels of the bus" in white and the bottom line says, "go up and down" in blaze orange. In between is a hand-drawn illustration of the hi-lo diagram of the I2C bus, popular with makers. At the bottom is the URL to the store greyandslate.com
OK, had a chuckle over this one when I saw it again today, while looking thru my store.
I had started my store with cheeky #maker twisted quotes, and I still do the occasional one.
What do you think?
And do you know what bus this is?
This is why #electronics #hacking is so fun: take something that works perfectly fine and rip out its innards to make it work even better.

A maker-inspired twist of the famous Descartes quote. The design shows stacked words saying 'Facio ergo sum' with 'sum' in blaze orange. Below, store URL greyandslate.com.
Round-up time! Looking back on my most popular designs of March. Not too many surprises (my @raspberrypi.com design still is a favorite). Tho a Latin text-only shirt with #maker inspired 'Facio, ergo sum' did surprise me.
What do you think of the list?

Hand holding front view of the first AVR proto board, showing chip, resistors, battery holder, button, and four LEDs
Hand holding back view of the first AVR proto board, showing traces and some identifying text.
Hand-illustrated white line stylization of the front (on top) and back (on bottom) of the first AVR pronto board, with blaze orange highlights for the LEDm traces, and identifying text. Background is black, and at bottom of image is the URL for greyandslate.com
Found this great image of the first #AVR #proto. This is the ancestor of the ATmega tinyAVR, megaAVR, and AVR Dx chips so popular amongst #makers and hardware #hackers.
Of course, I turned it into a shirt design. One with proto front and back on front and back of shirt. Also one with both in front.
While my more popular designs are hand-drawn #chips or #hardware, I do get inspired to do cheeky sayings that resonate with #makers or #hakers.
Here is one in honor of the #Bodge - that clever repair to save a project.
What do you think?
Wicked. And funny you share not some flower or insect photo but hardware and components. Haha. Showing your colors. Hahah.
Yes! Been overdue on a visit to The Heights.
Cool - what device?

Yes! Linking Tarot and "narrative design technology." I've spent the past 35 years trying to articulate succinctly what divination and ideation tools provide.
Better 586 years late, than never.
Brilliant! Thank you! Oh, and you do this every day, no?
And good cheeky-joke-not-joke-surprise!
Apple Computer Co original logo hand-drawn with Newton under a tree and the company name on a wavy ribbon around the frame.
Happy 50th Apple.
The first Apple I ever used was in 1984, an original Mac, in the computer lab at Boston College.
I was hooked from Day 1.
Since then, my family and I have owned so many more.

Text in white on background "Keep calm and capybara on". At the top is a capybara silhouette in blaze orange. Below is the URL greyandslate.com
Haha. "Keep calm and capybara on"
What a great story about a program at #BostonCollege, led by the amazing @gallaugher.bsky.social
It's all there: #assistivedevices, tech for good, #CircuitPython, electronics hardware, #makerspaces, and lots and lots of #blinkenlights

"but can it run Doom?" on a black background. "DOOM?" is in blaze orange, the rest of the text is in white. from shirt series from greyandslate.com https://greyandslate.com/?search_query=doom
Make that one more thing to put into the YES column on the ever-growing #hacker list of "But can it run DOOM?"
Brilliant!
