Leftist/progressive movements are, in other words, about culture, community, shared interests and expressions as much as straight up politics. Would be good to really build this community/network for games. Talking with @roterote.bsky.social about this now.

Hoping to make connections between people who build strong leftist and progressive culture (politics but also music, film, festivals etc.) and game developers. Many people out there understand that games are a part of larger cultural forces. Just have to bring them together.

Imagine, with the genocides, apartheid, illegal wars, the global economy collapsing, starvation, concentration camps, wars, masked government-sent terrorists in Israel & the US - and the scariest thing you've ever seen is 5% conditional taxes on your multi-million dollars real estate hoarding.

The fact that "being taxed on a wealth that would take most people dozens of generations to gather" is "the scariest thing she's ever seen" means the world isn't scaring millionaires and billionaires nearly enough yet.
