i am just tired of liveaction adaptations of EVERYTHING.

i just want that beautiful world done justice and i have been burned many times before by adaptations qnd believe me, i am very lenient with them! i get they are not 50/50 qnd should not be 50/50 the same!!!!

i love elden ring dearly and i just don't think an adaptation is necessary on any level. certainly there are hundreds of stories you could tell.from the lands between but tell it in a way that someone who has never played will get it.

resident evils were at least entertaining but they have fuck all to do with the games. doom? lmao. assassin's creed? absolutely forgettable and has fuck all to do with the games. idek what else out there. a fighting game movie lmao? no.

iron lung is literally the only video game movie that genuinely works: a small indie game made by one guy who was also involved in the movie, a proficient gamer who loves the game and respected it and expanded on it. that's it.

all i said was that i don't trust video game adaptions, especially with a game as large as elden ring, since the movie should be coherent to non-gamers too. i didn't trash the movie, i didn't trash any movie, i didn't say a single thing even about the cast.

played quite a lot of layers of fear but ended up just dropping it. just not feeling it. some creepy atmosphere, but the painter was kinda triggering, the rest is either dull, confusing or just insanely repetitive. eh. library moment with the wife was pretty much the only moment i liked.
