Born into nobility, he lost his family young, watching them get wiped out in a single night. He was taken in by a ninja village close to an unknown mountain range, being taught along with other orphans the way of shadow arts. His world and role in it changed from that of possibly being part of the Shogun's court, to being a tool in it's sustaining. Sojimaru returns ten years later to serve his old, sickly friend, only to fall for the Heir. After months of relearning their friendship, they form a Shudo relationship, though Sojimaru's role, goals and work stay true to what he was taught. Protect the Shogun at all costs, even at the expense of his own life. Chrystanthemums are a symbol of the japanese imperial family, bringing a sense of nobility to the piece. it is also a symbol of Shudo, a practice of homosexuality in japan before it was outlawed in the Meiji period. blue is often seen as a tranquil colour, though also one of acceptance and moving on. Sojimaru is draped in it, as though still moving on from his life as he knew it and accepting he must continue on, even if it hurts. in his left hand he holds Kusanagi, the sword of the main character in Nioh 3, Tokugawa Takechiyo, replaced in this roleplay and story by my wife's character, Tokugawa Ryoma. The blade is formed from the body of the spirit Kusanagi who accompanies the player character through their journey
