Think about this: A retired game show host may end the world as we know it. Only a master satirist could write this scenario, but Mark Twain is dead.

This honestly explains a lot.

I think this is all theatre: Andrew being arrested and “thrown in jail” for a relatively (compared to his other alleged crimes) minor corporate crime gives the illusion that royals are just like us.

This is performative, a distraction.

A distraction from the whiff of sexual crime, from the £12M.

2/2. … who paid one of Andrew’s accusers £12M to keep quiet.

Arguably £12M of the people’s money.

While they continue to live lives of excess and luxury.

I will be amazed if Andrew gets a custodial sentence. Let’s wait and see.

I’m seeing a lot of posts about Andrew being arrested today, and how that somehow shows the royals are just like the rest of us.

This is theatre, designed to distract us from his alleged darker acts with Epstein, and the monarchy’s part in the cover up.

Let us remember that this is a family… 1/2

🚨BREAKING: The new Representation of the People Bill is here.

The Bill aims to "restore trust in our democracy" - but it doesn't even touch the voting system that leaves millions unrepresented.

60% of Brits want to scrap First Past the Post.

If Reform ever wins power in Westminster, it will be because of Labour’s cowardice | George Monbiot Starmer could improve our unfair electoral system to stop the hard right, but he won’t. All the party has left are threats about ‘splitting the vote’, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Regardless of which party you support, this is a key point by @georgemonbiot.bsky.social:

"With Proportional Representation, no one would ever need to worry about splitting the vote again. We could vote for the parties we actually wanted."

Wouldn't that be nice? To vote with hope, not fear?

The monarchy have never apologised for their role in slavery. They've been accused of racism multiple times recently. They have a racism problem. #AbolishTheMonarchy

Jeffrey Archer retained his place in the House of Lords when he went to jail for perjury and perverting the course of justice. And from his release from clink in 2003 until retiring in 2024.
This is plainly daft. As is the House of Lords tbh. People who make our laws should be elected, surely.

An Elected Head of State Republic supports the replacement of the monarch with an elected head of state.  The kind of head of state we think is best for Britain is a 'ceremonial' or 'constitutional' position, someone chosen…

London is far safer than violent viral videos will have you believe Contrary to social-media lore, it is one of the safest cities in the world

London’s murder rate is at its lowest since comparable records began. That makes the city safer than Paris, Berlin and New York. Discount the inflammatory content on social media

I don’t think many people are qualified to weigh the pros and cons, as they showed last time.

We need our government to govern: take us back in as it makes the most sense for everyone. No public vote.

Labour and the Tories are banking on a return to the ‘old normal’. That’s not what voters want | Rafael Behr An economic recovery could still change the parties’ fortunes. But the days when only two parties were licensed to supply Britain with prime ministers are gone, says Guardian columnist Rafael Behr

"Britain’s First Past the Post electoral system is hopelessly ill-equipped to translate multiparty politics into a rational distribution of parliamentary seats," writes @rafaelbehr.bsky.social

FPTP means chaos. The only solution is Proportional Representation.

Please read this. The UK political & media establishment is asleep at the wheel.

We have made ourselves wholly dependent on a Trump ally for our national security at the exact moment Trump is threatening to invade a NATO ally

Nothing says "smash the political establishment" quite like begging the Prime Minister to put your mates in the unelected House of Lords.

I watched the second from last MI film in 4D. Never again. When Tom Cruise put the key into the machine in the sub my chair almost shook me onto the floor. The movements had no sensible link to the film, so apart from being uncomfortable it broke the suspension of disbelief for me.
