Think about this: A retired game show host may end the world as we know it. Only a master satirist could write this scenario, but Mark Twain is dead.
Tweet by Matt Duss quoting Socrates—“The unexamined life is not worth living”—in response to a post about billionaire Marc Andreessen saying he has no introspection. The image shows Andreessen seated at a table in a studio interview setting, wearing a dark sweater and smiling slightly.
This honestly explains a lot.
I can’t tell what is real and what is a joke anymore…..
They should give it back to the chiropodist they bought it from. 😂
And all to save the Conservative Party. That worked too.
I think this is all theatre: Andrew being arrested and “thrown in jail” for a relatively (compared to his other alleged crimes) minor corporate crime gives the illusion that royals are just like us.
This is performative, a distraction.
A distraction from the whiff of sexual crime, from the £12M.
2/2. … who paid one of Andrew’s accusers £12M to keep quiet.
Arguably £12M of the people’s money.
While they continue to live lives of excess and luxury.
I will be amazed if Andrew gets a custodial sentence. Let’s wait and see.
I’m seeing a lot of posts about Andrew being arrested today, and how that somehow shows the royals are just like the rest of us.
This is theatre, designed to distract us from his alleged darker acts with Epstein, and the monarchy’s part in the cover up.
Let us remember that this is a family… 1/2
🚨BREAKING: The new Representation of the People Bill is here.
The Bill aims to "restore trust in our democracy" - but it doesn't even touch the voting system that leaves millions unrepresented.
60% of Brits want to scrap First Past the Post.
Tell Starmer to include electoral reform in the Bill ⬇️
Regardless of which party you support, this is a key point by @georgemonbiot.bsky.social:
"With Proportional Representation, no one would ever need to worry about splitting the vote again. We could vote for the parties we actually wanted."
Wouldn't that be nice? To vote with hope, not fear?
The monarchy have never apologised for their role in slavery. They've been accused of racism multiple times recently. They have a racism problem. #AbolishTheMonarchy
Yasmin Alibhai-Brown on royal racism. Watch now.

Jeffrey Archer retained his place in the House of Lords when he went to jail for perjury and perverting the course of justice. And from his release from clink in 2003 until retiring in 2024.
This is plainly daft. As is the House of Lords tbh. People who make our laws should be elected, surely.
An elected head of state will be better for our country. Here's why. www.republic.org.uk/an_elected_h...
Charles isn't our King. We weren't asked whether we wanted him or not. #NotMyKing #AbolishTheMonarchy
Stop believing lies about the royals and tourism. They don't make us billions a year. #AbolishTheMonarchy
London’s murder rate is at its lowest since comparable records began. That makes the city safer than Paris, Berlin and New York. Discount the inflammatory content on social media
I don’t think many people are qualified to weigh the pros and cons, as they showed last time.
We need our government to govern: take us back in as it makes the most sense for everyone. No public vote.
Full EU membership should be put to the public at the next election. It's time to return home.

Profits go down: We regret to announce that we have to destroy the world.

"Britain’s First Past the Post electoral system is hopelessly ill-equipped to translate multiparty politics into a rational distribution of parliamentary seats," writes @rafaelbehr.bsky.social
FPTP means chaos. The only solution is Proportional Representation.
‘If our national security rests on US technology, we have no national security’
Please read this. The UK political & media establishment is asleep at the wheel.
We have made ourselves wholly dependent on a Trump ally for our national security at the exact moment Trump is threatening to invade a NATO ally

The oil companies are a co-equal branch of government. So are the tech bros. Congress isn't.
The royals cost us half a billion a year. Find out more through Republic's half billion royals report.

The government, opposition, etc. They all keep talking about 'benefits cheats'. Yet, they never talk about the country's biggest scroungers - the royals. #NotMyKing #AbolishTheMonarchy
In the summer I wrote to @Keir Starmer to ask that Reform have some representation in the House of Lords, He didn't give me the courtesy of a response, despite Reform winning the elections in May. This makes me more determined to smash the political establishment than ever
Nothing says "smash the political establishment" quite like begging the Prime Minister to put your mates in the unelected House of Lords.
Well… I’ll be putting my retirment tour of Nashville, Graceland, Memphis, The Alamo, Grand Canyon on the back burner then….. 😳
I watched the second from last MI film in 4D. Never again. When Tom Cruise put the key into the machine in the sub my chair almost shook me onto the floor. The movements had no sensible link to the film, so apart from being uncomfortable it broke the suspension of disbelief for me.
