I also think it's funny different people have different ideas on pacing depending on how much they're invested. The way I've seen lots of differing opinion on if Higurashi or Umineko have better pacing but it prob rly comes down to which you were more interested in.

and like honestly its fine to not like slice of life. i used to think i didnt bc sol i feel can be a bit of a drag depending on who is writing it and also just preference of course. But for a horror I feel like it just makes sense to build up to that with sol scenes is all.

to me ryukishi writes peak slice of life scenes so when ppl complain about the pacing in higurashi & point at the slice of life scenes it confuses me like... ig you dont like build up of story and characters?
