Just for reference, what's the actual conversation rate? Like how many bytes make a sand grain?

Extreme crop of a phone image shows a swallow with a light coloured chest and dark wings, it's tail streamers just about visible at this resolution, against a blueish white partly clouded sky. At the bottom of frame some hedge bushes are seen, bearing some blossom.

First swallows of the season here in Nottinghamshire, UK. About 53N. Welcome back little friends. #swallow #spring

Agreed, again. It's practically magical thinking to proceed on the assumption that a retrieval mission will somehow come about.

I think I must have misunderstood what you meant by 'dumbest, most ridiculous, most insane things ever'.

A title frame from an animated TV series called Crystal Tips and Alistair, showing a girl with wild purple hair and a yellow and blue striped dress adorned with a heart and flower, and her dog. You can probably work out which is which. The episode is called Hide and Seek.

The theme tune goes like this: diddly-dee diddly-dee dee dee dee dee dee, diddly-dee diddly-dee dee dee dee dee dee.

British people of a certain age will immediately recall this slightly trippy animation from the 1970s. You can thank me later for the theme tune earworm.

Yes! Littering them over the surface does nothing except make retrieval much much harder. Keeping them on the rover would still present a retrieval challenge, but an order of magnitude less difficult.

I mean, what were they thinking?

I'd put it slightly differently. Dragons are dinosaurs, birds are dinosaurs, therefore dragons are birds. Same result, but I'm yet to see any of them actually breathe fire.

An ancient oak tree is silhouetted against a towering cumulonimbus cloud with brilliant blue sky above. Yes, I got wet. But it's only water.

A correction will appear in tomorrow's print edition:
"A headline with an article on Friday about President Trumpโ€™s threats to leave NATO misstated the full name of the body. It is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, not the North American Treaty Organization."

Thank you. I was puzzled that this image appeared to be lower quality than the famous Apollo 8 blue marble, and now I understand.

This week, Brexit finally killed our family business. We cleared out our warehouse, handed back the keys, paid the final bills and said goodbye to our last employee.
What was once a thriving firm died a slow, sad death, all thanks to Farage, Johnson and the gullible idiots they conned. 1/18

Fine point of pedantry: the Artemis II mission will *not* 'escape Earth's gravity'. It will dally with the moon, but the moon itself is still bound by Earth's gravity. #Artemis #moon

No human mission has ever escaped Earth's gravity. #pedantry

In the supermarket to buy novelty chocolate for the weekend. All the eggs are about 50% more expensive without a store card.

I don't have a store card. I don't want a poxy store card. Guess I'll spend the overdraft somewhere else. Fuck off.

I reckon that's just about three bottles of wine, thank you very much.

It's being shown again on Freeview, one of the high number channels possibly 80 or 81 but I can't check it now. Hilariously bad. The channel first showed the episodes last year - out of sequence, which made it even more of a mess. Glorious stuff.

Swings and roundabouts though, isn't it? The primary legislation to ban it would also be slow and cumbersome.
