That still seems a bit rich
It's like they 1:1 mixed up the second coming traits with the Antichrist traits but just ran with it anyway
It's uncanny...
The urge to know that my loved ones are alive keeps clashing with my knowledge that they have far better things to do than assuage my petty anxieties amid yet another absolute atrocity.
I know you are not okay and that nobody is safe, but I really want you and yours to be both right now.
Israel hit all over Beirut. Strikes were in nearly all the neighborhoods surrounding my house. Reports saying many injured and dead. Israel seems to be intensifying before a ceasefire is implemented
There is no pivoting from genocide. There's no refocusing on kitchen table issues--a madman with an itching to drop nukes is threatening to eradicate a country. There is no planning session for this, there is only action.
American and Israeli missiles hit Sharif University in Tehran tonight. Often called #Iran’s MIT, the institution has been home to some of the country’s best and brightest minds in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics since 1966. 1/2
Israel's Message to a Broad Swath of Lebanon: Shites Must Go 1 day ago • Israel has issued sweeping evacuation warnings, and pressed some Christian and Druse leaders to expel Shite Muslims from southern towns, the leade...
I will repeat this again and again: Israel’s goal in Lebanon is to destroy the country itself.
Israel is targeting Lebanese Shias - a war crime - to push for civil war in Lebanon
The new tool should be cheaper than the one it replaces. 2 It should be at least as small in scale as the one it replaces. 3 It should do work that is clearly and demonstrably better than the one it replaces. 4 It should use less energy than the one it replaces. 5 If possible, it should use some form of solar energy, such as that of the body. 6 It should be repairable by a person of ordinary intelligence, provided that he or she has the necessary tools. 7 It should be purchasable and repairable as near to home as possible. 8 It should come from a small, privately owned shop or store that will take it back for maintenance and repair. 9 It should not replace or disrupt anything good that already exists, and this includes family and community relationships.
finally, Wendell Berry's standards for technological innovation--truly as relevant now as they were in 1987 #othernetworks
Attention historians of medicine and/or France: according to the @hfrancewebsite.bsky.social email list, moves are underway to dismantle the incredible Medica-Histoire de la santé digital collection (BIU Santé Médicine). Oppose this move by filling out the "Enquête de satisfaction" at the link🗃️
I make a butterbean salad that is very similar to that (except I put a teeny bit of soy sauce too)
Jesus, does everything have to be phallic with this guy?
At least they don't have to account for the weight of the books in this "library"
The Jerusalem Post @Jerusalem_Post Opinion: The only way Israel can govern the Gaza Strip without becoming an external oppressor of “another people” is to remove “the other people” from the confines of the Gaza Strip itself.
There's a word for this
'Only 490 patients were evacuated during... February, which Wahidi describes as a "negligible" number of people.
"We need to evacuate 400 daily, and at least 200 at the minimum, which would end the file of patients and wounded within six months..."'

"eugenics and scientific or medical racism etc wasn't real science™"
Be for real, come on.
Science has always been part of heinous things, was implicated in and facilitated colonization, slavery, the Holocaust more. All of this IS part of the story of science.
WHY are you sanitizing this?
The escalation comes after Israel threatened to take control of a "security zone" in south Lebanon up to the Litani River, raising fears of a deeper and prolonged occupation of the country
How awful. We had a scare when Zellie was very lightly hit by a car today. Fortunately she seems to be okay, if a bit cuddlier than usual.
We can only hope (because that's as close as we'll get in this awful world). But you've seen far more of this than I have...
So many of the people I care about most in this world are at Israel's mercy and all I can do is limply ask them to stay safe knowing that are no brakes and no limits at this point.
But please be safe.

You know, I could probably just consult the Bible about that
I can't figure out the roast cuts here. I used to do a fantastic roast beef, but everything here is either slow and low or excruciatingly expensive rib cuts.
So... do you have to wait to do an episode on this guy or...
A reckless and insane war by the dumbest and most powerful climate change denier in the world leading to an acceleration of global electrification is very darkly funny.
This is the truest thing ever written
