A Path to Improvement 🚀
But AI isn't all bad news! It has the potential to strengthen democracy by improving election administration, helping officials communicate with diverse groups, and leveling the political advertising playing field.

The Civic Impact 📉
From silly memes to malicious disinformation, AI-generated content can make it harder for both citizens and officials to trust what they see and hear. This can lead to decreased civic engagement and trust in institutions.
The Downside: A "Threat Accelerator" ⚠️
AI is a "threat accelerator." It makes it easier to create and spread malicious disinformation, including deepfakes of public figures. This erodes trust and makes it harder to hold officials accountable. doctorsofdemocracy.org/AI
A Question for Our Time 🤖
What will AI mean for our democracy? Our latest report, "Artificial Intelligence and Democracy: For Better AND Worse?" explores how AI is already impacting elections and what the future may hold. It's a question we all need to consider. doctorsofdemocracy.org/AI
