My top 3 would have been Gobert over Ausar but I am happy that all 10 players I had in my All-Defensive teams got at least 1 point in this. Pretty awesome.

Youngest Ever.
First Unanimous.
And he would have been all that last year had he played enough.
Victor Wembanyama now wins a Defensive Player of the Year that could very well be the first of a laughbale amount of these for years to come.

ππ I wouldn't have any of them in my ballot but it's a good chance to try and understand the arguments being thrown around while I'm not rooting for a specific player.
So... Just out of these 3, who do you think should 6MOTY: Jaime Jaquez, Tim Hardaway or Keldon Johnson?
"I'll look up at the sky, and think of you"
ππDrivers of offense impact for this NBA regular season:
βοΈTeam points per 100 possessions scored with the player on the court, relative to league average
βοΈOn / Off difference of team points scored per 100
π΅π΄On / Off changes in TS% of the player's teammates when he's on the court
ππ Randomly missing Moses Moody tonight...
Take your time, we await your return King.
I also made this one but I think I never posted it... should have used this same image again, it would have been a better one lol
Here is that previous post:

ππ I'm guessing this will be my final Utah Jazz post of the season?... Not the first time I look at some metrics for Ace Bailey though.
But I think it's nice to take stock of how he's progressed, particularly since December - the last time I posted something specifically about him.
Every extra game like this they can have together means the world.
The way I follow the NBA now, individual team fandom gets harder to sustain. I think, deep down, I know that side of me might be gone the day Steph retires.
So I'll be basking every night like this I can have.

PS: Why am I not celebrating the Warriors game? Becuase I haven't watched it yet and let's pretend I don't know what happens...
It's total deja vu with Orlando. This is the Aaron Gordon situation all over again.
The sooner everyone realizes Banchero just can't be the main guy on your offense, the better for everyone - Paolo included.
ππSo this'll be the final version of my 25-26 NBA spreadsheet with a bunch of player stats + metrics (some known and good, some shitty things of mine lol).
It's most of the data used on my visualizations and I will surely look back a lot on it over the postseason.

So... the y axis on the final plot says 3P Shooting Quality when it should read "Points Per 75". My bad, did not notice that variable remained unchanged from a previous post π
ππ Final playmaking report for the sophomore season of Stephon Castle.
Solidified himself as one of the best lob throwers in the NBA, and the Spurs just happen to also have the best target for those (perhaps) in NBA history...
ππ I'm not here to make a case for Nickeil Alexander-Walker for any awards, but I do want to celebrate this career season for him.
From one of the best bench players in the NBA to a true 2-way wing starter, with a bonkers jump in his scoring volume alongside his efficiency.
ππ For further context, considering how On/Off numbers can be affected by backup quality, let's see as well the value for On-Court Rim Frequency.
Mix it with Points Saved at the Rim, to see how they affect the shots opponents do take, for a fuller picture of NBA rim protection.
This MAGA civil war and the effects of the Iran war *might* end up being the combination of events that save democracy in the US...
And, frustratingly, nearly nothing of value towards that goal came from the Democratic leadership.

Hey, wanna make sure nobody wants to ever be in the play-in again?
Do you want a few teams to be trash for mich longer regardless of tanking?
Want to make a statement that you don't think talent redistribution is a worthy goal?
Do I have a plan for you...
Feel free to try and guess the bigs around him at the top of the 3P Shooting Quality board for the last couple of seasons π
I feel like the top 10 outside of him is mostly straightforward.
ππ Who knows what's in store for humanity tonight, so here's something random: A post on Jaylin Williams' shooting.
JWill has turned himself into one of the most reliable spot-up threats at the 5 in the NBA, and OKC has the luxury of not needing him if they go fort their tighter rotation.
Since I was quoting specific tweets thay don't exist here, I will just screenshot my full rant about these tanking-solving ideas from the NBA.
I'm still fuming.
Life has gotten in the way of me putting out a lot of NBA stuff on here as of late (and for just a little while longer), so let me pop in quickly to say:
These are terrible ideas across the board. An impressive level of nonsense.
It's a relief that he's under contract for a couple of more seasons. However long it takes for him to be back at 100%, he won't have to deal with worrying about his next payday while in recovery.
Moody's been a pro since his rookie year. Breaks my heart to see this.
Some years just aren't mesnt to work out for a team...
I hope recovery goes as well as possible for Moody. Tragic but I really do believe he'll return to build on the trust he earned this season.
ππ I can't get enough of talking about Kon's shooting and how ridiculous it is. So... yeah, here's another graph.
This time, contextualizing the Hornets rookie in the entire landscape of the 21st century.
(Curry used as reference, again, because we're talking about shooting)
ππ That tweet made me curious enough to look at the ISO data for both.
No other two players have a higher per-game rate of finishing plays through isolation, but Harden was spamming these at a volume SGA can't even touch. And I don't say that as a criticism btw.
