About 14 mo ago, a documentary film crew spent about 6 hr here at Pilgrim Place (our #intentionalcommunity), interviewing John and me. It was uncertain how the material would be used. As time passed, the whole episode receded from foreground to background, all but forgotten.

Juneteenth is Thursday. What a privilege, that Michal Dawson Connor will be here at Pilgrim Place for our observance at our weekly Gathering (7:00-7:30PM). Michal will offer an abridged version of "The Slave Letters"—spirituals alternating with letters written by enslaved persons.

Lagniappe: Out of nowhere, Mohammad was shouting "Habibi!" to someone in a vehicle passing us on Cesar Chavez. Moments later, said #habibi was at our table, offering us her homemade-from-scratch #labne. I was an oh, so happy adoptee in their cozy community with the megapolis buzzing around us.

Yesterday after leading #Qigong in #SilverLake, my first go at #MilpaGrill in #BoyleHeights. Except it was actually #Macheen. Y'see, it's a #collective! Weekdays, #Milpa; weekends, #Macheen. And #CafeCafe is there (every day?) alongside.
