and every single person saying something like this?
you're making it that harder for the next person (who is WATCHING YOU DO IT, RIGHT NOW) to feel like coming forward is worth it.
you're the problem. it's you. you're why people don't tell.

ProPublica journalists are a national treasure. ProPublica as a nonprofit entity is lucky to employ them. Management should come to a fair agreement, and FAST, so these folks can focus on their work.
I don't "feel" my work has been stolen.
I know it.
This kind of language use by the NYT is part of the problem.
Framing it as some kind of emotional woo woo instead of a clear copyright breach...
this post office shit is really grinding my gears because, as with most of these things, it is the result of decades of bipartisan effort
when the GOP holds power they hamstring and undermine the PO, when Dems hold power they ignore the damage and fix nothing

This isn’t getting enough attention. Bad look for @sfwa.org. And a big deal for an organization that should know better. I’ve seen the jargon about committees & board decisions & 🙄, but the correct decision is credit the visual storytellers with the script writers. NOW. Not after losing credibility.
In honor of Mr. Rogers’ birthday, here’s your regularly scheduled reminder that the quote of his you keep sharing, that in times of crisis we should look for the helpers, was for his audience of children.
We’re adults now. We’re supposed to *be* the helpers.
What a beauty!
Kristi Noem testified under oath yesterday that detainees receive medical attention within 12 hours. Yet another shameless lie.

Hey! Scholars! If you're using someone's work in your class, sometimes it's nice to email them and tell them, because then they might feel good about their research instead of entirely crushed by the academic humanities' ongoing descent into the grave
Oh, but a 1930s singer is a treasure!
also a thing we know of course, with a historical romance author helping coordinate. LOL
it's hard to count the number of ways they're wrong some days.

Do you live in Wyoming and/or know someone who does, who wants to distribute whistles? Put them somewhere in their store? Hand them out?

Or with the money being spent on not-so-secret police.
People who hope are motivated. They DO things. People in despair retreat into the corner. They STOP doing things. Dooming promotes despair and stains hope. Dooming harms the resistance. Dooming is part of the problem. Maybe don't doom at people?
Right now, Democrats have the power to defund and abolish ICE. We should do it. This is about right and wrong—and the murder we are seeing on the streets is just plain wrong. Anyone who supports funding DHS and ICE is supporting the murder of Americans. We can stop this.
My friends local to Minnesota, whom I trust a great deal, would like to share the following resources that could use support.

For my out-of-state friends wanting to help Minneapolis, Sanctuary Supply Depot is a grassroots mutual aid effort to support unhoused folks here. They take cash as well as in-kind donations: linktr.ee/sanctuarysup...
Oh god. There goes my “at least she didn’t suffer” shred of coping.

No Blood For Oil vs. Exactly How Much Oil Are We Talking About?
Expect to see a lot of this classic Onion headline, from 23 years ago, over the coming weeks.
Thank you! Desperately needed some peace.
I am once again insisting that the US must submit to the jurisdiction of the ICJ.
I miss his voice so very much in our era filled with extraordinary lies. Though perhaps it’s the ordinary ones that got us here. Thank you for your recurrent gift book giving!
Just once it'd be nice to say "Best year ever; bank this one, for we may never see its like again" rather than "Another fucking quagmire of doom, glad to see the back of it."
