FRAAAAANZ!
Thank you, @kazen101.bsky.social! What a great pick, he was fun to sketch 😄

Sure, but they WERE following trends in their present time, so it's not like they were wholly innovation-focused. Trends come and go, and it's also true for art.
It's so frustrating because it disintegrates the 'value' of art from all perspectives. Artists get overwritten by their output, audiences get turned into consumers, and even the patron class get less value out of the churned slop cycle because quantity replaced quality. And corpos are unsustainable!
so cool!!
any more obsessing over the mesh will just be spinning my wheels, so i think she's more-or-less ready for some bones
the more i learn about botany the more i appreciate xenoblade X's mira for hosting some of the wildest flora in any video game i've ever played.
wish monolith didn't kill it all off in the switch port. i'm still absolutely devastated by the "definitive" edition's fan-fiction ass epilogue... :(
Woahhhhhhhh
High class culture fr
*grabs your mii by the neck*
i'm just narrowly dodging the plagiarism allegations with this one chat, phew

😳
it took until 31 for my neurons to finally evolve to actually enjoy doing 'boring adult things' like yard work. sure took me a while
LOUIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i found it really neat but the handgun long barrel combo was kinda the only setup i used for the entire game lol had a blast with it tho, a really great game
dirge of cerberus appreciators unite!!!!!!! \o/
i truly believe in my heart-of-hearts that the jrpg subgenre is the pinnacle of narrative implementation in the video games medium, and nothing will ever change my mind--not even the fact that jrpgs all-too-often have terrible narratives!!!!
you just can't write better stories in any other genre
Rex's line delivery always sounds like he has no idea what context he's in (derogatory)
Malo's line delivery always sounds like he has no idea what context he's in (complementary)
Mythra's line delivery always sounds like she has no idea what context he's in (secret third thing)
the most i've ever found is a pretentious writer/editor guy on twitch who locks all his content behind memberships, like his xenoblade 1 narrative structure dissection was very competent but dude can't play games for shit lmao and his taste in games is ass.
my queendom for narrative studies x.x
i don't think anyone talks about or studies jrpgs in terms of how their narrative design contributes to gameplay design. i have a feeling that most wannabe jrpg devs just kinda 'feel it out' with intuition rather than doing their homework.
i can't find public discussion about that kinda stuff!
maybe someday i should actually write out my brewing ruminations on indie rpgs. i wonder if anyone would actually find it interesting?
but given how games like sea of stars and expedition 33 have garnered so much *gag* respect, maybe it won't be that welcome of an essay, though. idk
