For me, the ‘best’/most interesting NIN remixes are the Coil and Fetus tracks on Fixed, which make you feel like you’ve ingested a bucket full of bad pills and you’re coming around to find someone trying to trepan you with a power drill.
You can practically hear the "this Epstein stuff will blow over, nobody will care this time next year" and failed to anticipate that people would care even more, actually, and every political opponent would be smart to jump on it
*crowd noise

Really the crowd noise is unforgivable. But the rest of it is pretty mid. The only track that really works as a big thumping dance track is Memorabilia, because - guess what - it’s a cover of a big gay dance track by Soft Cell.
So that Nine Inch Nails remix album eh? That’s certainly got some… choices… on it. I think the main problem is that it doesn’t do much with the songs structurally and [sudden burst of artificial crown noise for no damn reason]
At work, stressed, headache. Now there’s hammering and drilling coming from the room next door.

Its not a hot take but man the way the word "content" is used these days. A vile bit of late stage capitalist propaganda, lumping all forms of human creativity and expression into a single wastebin teaching the public to treat all art as disposable.

I ask you to keep in mind all the things the UK Government have told us there is no money for and that we must be grown-ups about expecting as they throw their first £500 million down the hole on genAI magic beans.
Screen grab of an email: At an upcoming performance of Carmen on Saturday, May 16, Seattle Opera will be hosting a Furry Night with a special pre-show meet-and-greet with bass-baritone Christian Pursell, who plays Escamillo in the opera. Pursell will appear as his fursona, Chester the Geroo, and will be available for photos before the show. Although Pursell will not be in his fursuit onstage, we are encouraging audience members to attend the opera in their own costumes and fursuits, if they would like.
This amazing (real!) thing that is happening next month would make an absolutely incredible episode of Frasier

‘It's where Starmer and his entourage ate during his visit to China in January, a trip intended to thaw Anglo-Chinese relations after years of Tory froideur. And in one regard, at least, it worked: the Chinese loved him. They loved that he ate with chopsticks. They loved that he said thank you in Chinese. They loved that he came to this particular restaurant twice and ordered exactly the same things off the menu all over again. And I suspect, most of all, they loved him just for being there, while recognising in him one of their own, a modest bureaucrat interested in calm, order and obedience.’
new frontiers in baffling Guardian shit: is Keir Starmer Chinese?
