Here's the thing about horror: not every scene, every moment, every shot can be creepy or weird or hyper-directed. Horror requires normalcy so that the horrific can jolt and unsettle you out of the mundane. If every single facet is stylized or abnormal, the weirdness becomes tedious... and unscary.
