When Aloysius Minch goes off-screen it play's the smacking sound effect from Mother 2. That was changed to a yelling sound effect in Earthbound. The March 27, 1995 Earthbound prototype also uses the yelling sound effect. Maybe that hadn't gotten around to changing that yet.
