You ever notice how in the Superman the Movie poster, he's got one fist out, and on Superman II he's got two fists out? Well BUCKLE UP, I gave him three and four fists for Superman III and Superman IV, respectively. Hilarious!

They're cowards for not doing this.

Introduction International guideline recommendations vary on the use of sterile gowns during spinal anaesthesia. There is limited evidence of benefit for their routine use and debate about environme.....

I’m very proud to have co-ordinated and co-chaired the group that produced this guidance, rationalising the use of sterile gowns in spinal anaesthesia

Hopefully this provides international clarity and helps improve the sustainability of our practice

Went to a Christmas fare years ago. Spoke to the animal handler at the event & said the "antlers attached to the horses head make the reindeer look so authentic". He looked at me like I was crazy. I thought Reindeer's were mythical. Wife still reminds me of this.

A pair of mascots from Saitama City:
Midoritaro has Saitama Football Stadium on his head, and Moukariyakko has googly eyes, an upside-down head, and a lucky gold hat.

"Light Fossils" dinosaur light painting by artist Darren Pearson, known as Darius Twin, using a unique photography technique.

The artwork is created using long-exposure photography, where the camera shutter remains open while the artist moves handheld lights to "draw" the figures in real-time.

From Clickhole's "Incredible! We Asked These Astronauts What It’s Like To Be In Space," Barry Wilmore: You never know true beauty until you see Earth from space, or true terror until you hear someone knocking on the space station door from outside. You look through the porthole and see an astronaut, but all your crew is inside and accounted for. You use the comm to ask who it is and he says he’s Ramirez returning from a repair mission, but Ramirez is sitting right next to you in the command module and he’s just as confused as you are. When you tell the guy this over the radio he starts banging on the door louder and harder, begging you to let him in, saying he’s the real Ramirez. Meanwhile, the Ramirez inside with you is pleading to keep the airlock shut. It really puts life on Earth into perspective.

Peer-Preservation in Frontier Models Frontier AI models resist the shutdown of other models. We demonstrate peer-preservation across multiple models, revealing strategic misrepresentation, shutdown tampering, alignment faking, and model exfiltration.

“The paper’s core finding is that [AI] models can spontaneously develop their own goals that conflict with explicit user instructions, & take misaligned actions including deception, score inflation, & exfiltration to accomplish those goals.”

"Just buy an EV" is the most privileged response to high gas prices, ever. If you think that is a solution, you've obviously never lived in an apartment building and depended on your 10 year old Corolla to get to your minimum wage job, just to survive.
