Would be hilarious for a club to "poach" Howe now with the way his team is currently playing. The immediate negative PR for a fanbase like Chelsea's would be box office.

I'm just assuming we don't pick up another point this season. Can't be disappointed that way.
We needed to sell him last summer after his great season. He was never going to improve further or be worth more. Just like we should have sold Miguel Almiron after his insane purple patch. Instead we keep players until they're worth nothing.
The first three of those listed also manage to sell their best players regularly and get BETTER, yet we're always told there just aren't the players out there to improve our squad...
The man who bought Wissa, Elanga and Woltemade overseeing a "summer rebuild"... I can't be optimistic about it.
There needs to be some accountability for this season from someone.
I don't understand how we go into next season with everything just the same.
They destroyed Wrestlemania this year with all the adverts.
1hr 24 mins of wrestling on night two; 1hr 14mins of adverts.
TKO ruining everything.
Well... he can be selected by the manager to occupy a bit of space on either flank.
Bloke can't play in any position.
Yes this is true, but my point was more that it's constituency-dependent. Refusing to vote Green because they might not be able to win the *general election* doesn't make sense. There will be many seats in which they are the party best placed to beat Reform.
Amazing how we used to be able to sign technicians like Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Bruno Guimaraes, Isak without overpaying or being beaten by bigger clubs.
Almost like we've suffered since jettisoning Graham Carr, then sidelining Steve Nickson in favour of an unqualified nephew of the manager.
"Split the vote" was the argument for not voting Green in Gorton & Denton. It was the same argument for the council election in Thanet. Greens won both. Voters on the left need to vote for a party on the left. The idea that only Labour can beat Reform has been shown not to be true.
Brentford cut out their ๐ and got ยฃ25M more than he was worth.
Easy to put in an "amazing" performance against low quality opposition.
Really, is anyone amazed at us being able to batter Qarabag?
It's such a low bar. And as you say, two performances out of... 50?
I'll believe it when I see it. Not going to believe it will happen until there's some evidence. Andy Howe was a disaster last summer and the club's response was to promote him ๐
On current form / evidence, I don't think we do well next season even without Europe.
These players aren't even running for him now.
There's no tactical plan anymore. No ability to affect anything in-game.
Performances are so rancid, I don't see how it changes just with fewer fixtures.
Which is fine if the assumption that this season is a "blip" rather than permanent decline proves to be true.
It wasn't true in his time at Bournemouth. The drop-off was terminal and saw them relegated.
15 league defeats this season with 5 games left. 42 points.
Steve Bruce got 44 & 45...
"People ready to turn on him at the 1st sign of trouble"
We've played 33 games in the PL this season.
In the last 11, we've lost 8. We've been the worst team in the league alongside Wolves.
That's a 3rd of the season.
How can we justify being the worst team in the league for a 1/3 of the season?
It is a gamble. Either way. We're at that point now.
Gamble on a new manager or gamble that the one overseeing a broken team getting worse can be the one to repair and improve it.
For me, far too many similarities to the end of Howe's time at Bournemouth.
Howe's win percentage in the PL *this season* is 36.4%.
That's worse than Alan Pardew.
Hell of a gamble to hope this season is a one-off rather than a continual decline he'll be unable to fix.

"Athletes" who have no desire to run.
And he'll be sacked at a time when the only managers able to come in will be panic rescue options like Sean Dyche. We'll have wasted the chance to do a proper handover & rebuild with a manager we want and a summer transfer window for them to shape the squad.
Look, if he turns it around, great.
My concern is we're giving another summer transfer window to a man who's out of ideas, and totally cocked up the last one.
My current belief is we'll be around the relegation places towards Christmas having wasted another opportunity & a shitload of money #nufc
Yep and as stated, I disagree with most of these.
An extremely generous remembering of many of those games.
To need a last-minute desperation winner at home to newly-promoted Leeds is absolute shite btw, regardless of whether it made it an entertaining game you enjoyed. An amazing performance it absolutely was not.
Wouldn't class any of those as amazing. Qarabag are a pub team. Barca was good; amazing would have been to win. Man Utd was very good with 10 men. Liverpool I disagree on entirely.
Personally think we've been so shit this season that when we've managed a functional performance it's been lauded.
Genuinely interested in how many people believe we've put in some "amazing" performances this year, how many and which ones.
I can think of two at most. And even then, I wasn't "amazed". They were just a couple of very good performances amidst a sea of shite. #nufc
Which were the amazing ones?
I can think of two excellent performances this season. Man City at home in the league, Everton away.
Far far far more absolutely pathetic displays.
Woltemade on for the last 6 minutes. Only if we're losing though.
ยฃ69M club record signing bought by the current manager.
My belief is those "couple of wins" aren't coming this season. Who are we good enough to beat at the moment? We're as bad as Wolves across the last 12 games.
There is something rotten in the camp. We don't become this bad for this long for no reason. It isn't suddenly just going to turn around.
