OK, so consider this a soft announcement of sorts, everyone. Yes, there will be a #ProjektSolarSigil this year in the week running up to the #SummerSolstice, and yes, everyone's invited to take part. More concrete announcement and #SigilBomb instructions, as always, released towards the end of May.

Holy fuck, The Onion actually got InfoWars at last? Now I'll drink to that. And it won't be with crushed silver supplement pills or a diluted bleach chaser. Well done all involved.

Fantastic critique, and indeed autopsy, of one of the most visually arresting films I have ever seen. I love Stalker as a dreamy, almost liminal experience. But no movie, no matter how well respected or personally beloved, is worth cast and crew lives.

More evidence we're heading to a point where the media isn't just co-opted by certain super rich Neo-Feudalist voices into becoming a backing track to their hatred du jour, but the smaller outlets will be made to fear reporting the truth too. I viciously hate the Silicon Valley mindset so damn much.
Ah yes, a true giant of stage and screen. My favourite killer clown, hot demon lord and alien scientist rolled into one. Happy birthday indeed, eh #FilmSky?
Seeing as #BlueSky was having issues with link thumbnails the last time I posted this, #WitchSky, here's a link to my latest chaos godform essay. This one is based heavily on the reasons why I chose to personify the strange as a black dog in the first place. Future entries will have a broader reach.
Blindsided by this, didn't realise they were releasing a new song today. #PoetsOfTheFall never miss though. Just... wow.
My character on Grim Dawn, an isometric action RPG. A masked and hooded figure with large black metal shoulder plates, gauntlets and boots stands on an unkempt track way near a damaged barn, zombies in the far distance and another crudely armoured figure between. Corpses hang from a tree in the middle distance, and the Grim Dawn logo is above.
Waiting to hear back on an article pitch, so aside from that, more writing for my blog and the ever present day job, been really pushing ahead on #GrimDawn. Level 31 solo self found character, Necromancer/Occultist dual class. Not pictured here? The army of dead and demonic summons he travels with.
Arise, oh BlueSky! Spirit of the untamed discourse, haven for the iconoclast! In the name of Gibson's AI gods and the seventy two hidden memes of God, I summon thee from the void of connection error! Thou art a wondrous and excellent spirit, and I bid thee abide with me a while because I will it so!
This is so friggin' cool. We just had a sharp, heavy thunderstorm in Cardiff, and as soon as it finished the garden was absolutely swarming with little black flies with long back legs. Turns out they are Ensign Wasps, and they are actually super helpful keeping pests down. I love Spring, #WitchSky.
Walking in East London and must have stumbled into the path of a family of foxes. One standing either end of the alleyway, like muggers in fluffy red-brown suits with their ripped trash bag spoils all around my feet. I stood for a while, then nodded slowly to both and continued home.
Grim Dawn? Oh yes, basically Diablo II but more modern. And not reliant on online play. I play solo exclusively, and the game is balanced really well for that. Your first few characters will likely get killed lots, that's normal. Find a play style that suits you (I go necromancer pets) and have fun.
Afternoon, Gravehounds. Been busy over the last few days, and not just playing Grim Dawn either. Writing an article pitch at the moment, can't disclose too much just yet but this idea is kinda epic. Chaos Magick and culture and such. With just a little bit of dry humour as well. More updates soon.
The Devils Backbone (2001) is a classic. Has a strong atmosphere. So does Kairo/Pulse (2001) as well. Weaker script though. If you want a deep cut, The Ghosts Of Berkeley Square (1947) is a comedy of its time, but also influential on future movies.
Yes, #CyberPunk may seem nostalgic now. Out of date. Fantastic in a lofi sort of way, even. But as someone who had 80s and 90s anime as his gateway drug to the idea of a high tech, low life dystopia, Kowloon Walled City will always be both fascinating and terrifying in equal measure.
Been into synthwave since it became a thing in the 2000's. Had this on loop when it came out three and a bit years ago. Got me through some heavy writing, and it's still #Mood as hell.
So the second Barghest Wyrd godform entry is now up at my Author Portfolio. Free to read as always. This is a longer dive into the godform itself, and the first full length one under that banner. Future essays will have a wider Occult/Fortean reach, only mentioning the Barghest as a background hum.
And here we are, my first post from my new Laptop. Kinda got distracted exploring my Steam Library and getting to level 13 on #GrimDawn before all the accounts were set up on it. Still need to log into a few. But yeah, very happy with it. Should make navigating my Obsidian notes way quicker too.
The outer box and inner sleve for my new HP Victus laptop. Really impressed how eco friendly the packaging was. Recycled card and only one small clear plastic bag on the power supply. Good to see.
Been a bit quiet over the last few days, due to my laptop crapping out. Old Acer Aspire, 8GB, on board graphics. Had it for several years, been playing up for the last six months or so. Just upgrading to a new HP Victus today. 16GB, 6GB graphics. Finally get to play #GrimDawn as the gods intended.
I am sick of the 'accepted parameters' of language being set by shady algorithms and tech giant approved lexicons. Everything I type on my phone, or on my email, is constantly corrected, played with, grammar shifted. It took me decades to find my narrative voice, and I don't want it soft-censored.
All sent. Now we wait... 😈
Famous meme from the Simpsons Tree House of Horror with Mr Burns telling Smithers he owes him a coke after putting Homer's brain back in his skull.
Oooooooh. Well why not? I'm nothing if not chaotic. I'm assuming the site is modernoccultist.com right? Let them know I'll drop them an email via their contact details tonight and we can chew it over. And hey, thanks for the heads up. I owe you a coke! 😆
In the spirit of #TechnopaganTuesday I bring you a little something from the free internet. A selection of LibriVox recordings, all taken from the mind of #Lovecraft. Quality of narration varies, but there's sure to be something worth listening to here. One for #CthulhuSky too I'd wager.
An Obsidian Canvass which I use for plotting out my more serious articles ahead of time. Each horizontal row is the note cards which go into one. The bottom columns are note cards currently 'in play', that have been discarded from the above articles at some point but might still make it into an essay eventually. These are roughly ordered by type. The turquoise box is the 'hook' I have in mind to tie the individual parts of the essay together, and the red, orange and eventually green boxes to the right hand side are the working title as well as the status. Red is unfinished, orange is ready but unpublished, and green will be published in full.
OK, author time, #WitchSky. I thought some of you might find the Obsidian workflow for my Barghest Wyrd writing project interesting to look at. Seeing as I'm treating it like chapters of a book, albeit published for free as they are ready over on my portfolio blog. Full description in the ALT TEXT.
Probably should have tidied off the incense ash before taking this video, and straightened out the curtain too. But meh. I collect up the burnt incense every so often, store it away for use in ritual blends and such. Oh, and the pots either side are for cheese plants, if you were wondering.
OK, so I get that this is purely a product of consumerism and, as boring as it sounds, the supply chain. But I just LOVE how the trade shows for #Halloween start at this end of the year. While I'm not in the USA, and the UK is a little more subdued in their spooky, I could watch these all day.
Why yes, that IS a glass skull full of Christmas tree lights on my windowsill while a storm rages outside this evening. Just because Halloween isn't for several months don't mean I can't enjoy the concept some while waiting.
