Agree! I think it's disingenuous that everyone is so bothered about Govt debt?! I'm not concerned about anyone else's debt/mortgage (cause it means they have an asset), so why care about the Govt's (especially when it's not actually an issue). Why are we not focused on things that actually matter?

We were able to buy an EV in 2023 only because our bank were giving out mortgages at 1% for 3yrs - a "Good Energy Home Loan". There is no way we could have afforded one without it and the clean car discount was a huge bonus. I wouldn't say we are "rich", but able to service a home loan.

Absolutely livid! Moved to AA Health Insurance last year as other provider costing too much and AA had an offer on. Just received this years policy and informed our premiums are increasing by 33% - we haven't even made a claim! How can they get away with this shite 🤬

I live semi-rural, travel for work, and have no access to public transport, so yeah I'm cooked...
So by my calculations if someone drove Whg-Akd rtn (or vice versa) on this route, they would end paying $14.20 in tolls (includes current tolls from Warkworth to Akd). Bonkers and unaffordable. Can we just have trains instead of this madness.
I would also argue that a good chunk of that "road transport" is also a result of agriculture, and transporting the final product e.g. milk tankers...
Public transport costs money and every penny must be accounted for and recouped yesterday; motorways simply appear naturally and should never be questioned
As a frequent driver of this route, IMO what would really make a difference is more passing lanes and trains! If we could just reduce the trucks on this road it would make the travel so much more pleasant. Even better passenger trains from Whg-Akd CBD. Reduce the need for parking too!

Yes, been in similar situation. Ran from one plane to another and was the very last person to board second flight (final boarding call). Even this was after myself and two others were allowed off first! They also need to consider distance/time between gates, especially at Akd domestic term.
I've been saying this for years. Forget about parties/populists and let's vote for policy!
