Privileged to have been asked to lead this memorial service at North Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club on Sunday 12th April. If you knew Jasmine, come and celebrate her life at the club.

With two year groups on study leave, campus is much quieter, and I found a lovely place to prepare, in our Bay Cafe.

Hope you have a lovely Thursday.

This morning, we are holding two Remembrance services here at school and students are attending a third at the local war memorial. We take a defined moment out of our learning and growing to remember the sacrifice of those gone before us. We will remember them.

National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures & achievements. To explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation. Thank you to the students who took to face painting to tell part of their story & encourage reconciliation.

Yesterday the Church celebrated Ascension Day. I thought I would delve into my creative side, so I wrote the below, based on Luke 24:50-53 and Acts 1:9-11. Use if you want and hopefully my high school English teacher is not too disappointed. Blessings.

Feels like I have had a very luxurious holiday over the last two weeks, as I have been able to tick off all of these.

I know that I am blessed.

We pause today to remember and honour those who served and sacrificed their today for our tomorrow. No greater love than this, to lay down one's life for friends - John 15:13

May he rest in peace and rise in glory. Pope Francis led the Roman Catholic Church through great change and renewal. He leaves it a church for the whole world, not just for clerical elites. How appropriate than he took the name ‘Francis’ after that other great renewer of the church.
