When I was 20, I carried the Grand Portage between Lake Superior and the Hudson's Bay watershed. It was a memorable experience, but I have permanent neck pain.

My new dean didn't seem to agree when I described my current employer as "the weighted student credit hour factory," but I think it's basically correct, and that it explains quite a lot about how universities now operate w/r/t their students.
