We have smoky air in the Atlanta area today from the south Georgia wildfires. Burn bans in most of the southern half of the state. It's been suuuuuper dry here, though we are supposed to get some rain this weekend and early next week.

The one redeeming quality of all this mess has been the widespread hilarity (complimentary).
Seriously, though, the worst modern pandemic, 1918 flu, started with American soldiers in Kansas. Soldiers died of it in droves on troop ships to Europe. The flu almost certainly contributed to Germany's surrender. But, sure, skip the flu shot, Heggie.
Yeah. For the job I didn't get, it was a new publication that started up at the wrong time, right around the dot com bust era. I got laid off from my job about 6 months after that, but at least I was still in Atlanta, with a much lower cost of living!
I moved from GA to NJ for a job, and then from NJ back to GA for the current one. However, I almost got a job in Boston before I moved to NJ, and THAT job was eliminated 6 months later. SO glad I didn't get it!
Oh, the move still has a ways to go, though everything is going well so far! (Sister & BIL will move in Memorial Day weekend.)

Best news all year!
Yeah, I try to avoid going between May and September, lol. There are a lot of air conditioned areas, at least!
Awesome! It's always a great time. But super hot in July! I definitely recommend going to the parks early and taking a break in your room after lunch until dinnertime, to avoid the worst of it. ๐
I spent the weekend in Orlando(-ish). No travel troubles, visited with friends, rode one ride and watched one show (Rite of Passage and Zootopia, both at Animal Kingdom), waved to the castle at Magic Kingdom, had some orange Dole Whip, and slept a LOT. Successful trip! ๐
I'm a plain creamer-and-sweetener fan and also picky about flavored creamers. French vanilla and hazelnut are usually okay, but the others I've tried are just generally not good.
Oh you had a camera in my apartment! ๐
If he did, the media would probably treat it as just another Thursday.
Hooray!
Oh fabulous. In that case, I'd just go with repeating the "do x" thing. That will document how many times you've told him to do the thing and he refused. Not much else you can do (except scream internally).
I'd ignore it and just say "please do X as requested" or the equivalent. Let him blather on all he wants, but he still has to do the job. (And loop in higher-ups sooner rather than later. You should not be wasting your time on that crap.)
79 years ago today, Jackie Robinson broke Major League Baseball's color barrier and became the first Black player to play in the modern era. His number, 42, is the only number retired in all of Major League baseball. Happy Jackie Robinson Day!
Oh yeah, I know it's worth it. Just... a lotta stuff. ๐
That's a lotta stuff.
I saw that y'all post and did not take the bait. Go me, y'all.
Have there ever been two Bottoms running for governor in the same year? (We have Keisha Lance over on this end of the country.)
I have a better idea.
I am so sorry you had to deal with all that but glad you're okay. โค๏ธ
Yeah, I should have clarified "worse than usual," because it's all pretty crappy.
Downside: it's in Forsyth County, which has a pretty bad racist history. :-/
Trivia: Cumming is also home to Beaver Toyota.
Yeah. If it was a new show, I'd be more likely to go, but this one I've seen a lot, lol.
Laundry. Unpacking. A MASSAGE. Groceries. Visiting a co-worker/friend's new place. Possibly seeing a show (I have a ticket to Sound of Music Sunday night but might not go).
