Good luck and break a leg

I’d be happy if they just started drafting again instead of frivolously throwing them away on the Luke Schenn’s of the world.
I also completely disgree with that comment because I’ve been watching the Moose for years and guess what many players have actually had good development there.
While it certainly raises eyebrows, without knowing who it came from and whether or not there could be some sort of agenda involved with it I find it tough to decide how much weight to give it. And there may be other opinions that differ. That’s why I think ithis subject deserves more investigation.
I’m also a bit skeptical that simply spending the most money automatically makes a development program the best. There’s something to be said about working smarter and efficiently
From the attached article
Villeneuve probably too small to go top 10. But the Quebec guys might have Lane Hudson fever
They also have the advantage that many of those contracted skills coaches live in the GTA
Toronto comits more obviously. Who else?
On the D side Verhoeff ↘️ and Villeneuve ↗️
Well this is probably the wildest Elite Prospects list I’ve ever seen. Seems pretty “contrarian for EP. Far from concensus. Lawrence falling like a rock and Daigenais climbing the ladder
I’m old enough to remember when this fan base wanted Wade Flaherty’s head on a platter during the Pavelec era but went suddenly silent during the Helle era. And nobody could ever tell me what makes a good goalie coach vs a bad goalie coach. But they were all “experts”
I follow prospects as close as anyone but figuring out the development side is much trickier. I suspect like most things it is not as black and white as some of those takes make it out to be
I feel like there’s a deeper dive story waiting to emerge here as it pertains to player development. There are suddenly a lot of takes out there from people who are suddenly “experts” Most have very little knowledge about how things work and don’t even follow prospects that closely
@icdave.bsky.social Any sign of Garrett Brown yet? He hasn’t been added to the Moose roster yet at the AHL site.
The stream didn’t crap out on this one. Viktor Klingsell shift by shift from yesterday’s game. No points for Viktor in this game.

It was apparently an UBI that cost him the final game in the Flint Windsor series.
Grumpy old man yells at clouds
Exactly. Nobody is going to break the bank anytime soon. So how much they are paying vet players now is irrelevant
The cap will be well over $120M
They have absolutely no cap issues going forward. They’ll have more cap space than they could possibly spend in the coming years
Honestly besides Salomonsson probably the closest young guy deserving to make the team out of camp was Zhilkin. He probably had a better camp that Lambo Chibby and Ford. Duehr deserved a shot too but he’s not really young
He even seemed angry frustrated that media even dared to question them on this. And he never did answer the part about the perecption around the league
Well we got at least two Moose games left. Then it’s draft lottery time followed by perhaps watching some World Championship hockey. Then it’s a long wait until the draft and free agency
Sure would be nice to still have pick #39 this year
But we also knew that acquiring Schenn with term was a choice to errect a roadblock in his path. Signing Fleury was aso just another roadblock.
I expect nothing to change in the way this organization is operated. They are not resdybto be bold. That’s what I take away from Chevy’s 40 minutes
Cibby’s injury seems like it might be more serious than anyone expected
Chevy to Salomonsson “ when the opportunity comes (through injury) be ready”
Normal orgonaization…. This guy is probably ready lets give him an opportunity and show some faith in him
Psssst
Chevy…l have news for you….. the core isn’t teally that strong any more
