Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred review A triumphant expansion that gives the action RPG more depth than it's ever had before.

I wasn't ready for just how dramatic the changes to Diablo 4 would be in its newest expansion Lord of Hatred. There's a lot I couldn't fit into this review that I'll be gushing about next week. www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/di...

This is World of Tanks: Heat, a hero shooter spinoff of a game I haven't thought about in a decade. It's goofy and fun so far, and the beta is still live. www.pcgamer.com/games/sim/th...

Moved on to Splinter Cell: Double Agent (Xbox), the 2006 Chaos Theory follow-up that is famously very different depending on the platform. This OG Xbox version is basically CT2, but with less cool levels. Feels rushed, but ended up better than the Xbox 360 version.

Honestly one of the better characters in the whole thing, too

Battlefield 6 'seasons' should be big moments, but they're not, and it's because EA keeps drip-feeding us like hamsters in a cage Stop chopping up 'seasons' into smaller seasons.

"EA seems to operate under the assumption that everyone who enjoys Battlefield 6 is hopelessly addicted to it ... That doesn't reflect how I play Battlefield at all."

A lot of factors to consider here, including that this isn’t a live service game, but I think the constant doomerism from media that doesn’t even ask developers their metric of success is not particularly useful.

We gotta get back to it being embarrassing to dunk on an article you haven't read. Nobody reads.

"PUBG *could* have a bright future": boy I sure am really good at predicting things

Tried to home in on one of the big failings of the "drip-fed" seasonal update where developers hold so much back on purpose that, paradoxically, the best time to play is at the end.

Respectfully, if you're sharing on bluesky about where you read your gaming news, you probably read 90% of your news on bluesky. Which explains why so many of you prefer sites that primarily comment on the news or write about what happened on bluesky recently (which is cool and fine).

Went to a game last Sat and caught myself taking a picture of Shohei just standing there. Couldn't help it, it's like sharing a room with an alien who's nice and good at everything.

What's New in Game History: 2026 How do games live on after launch? Documenting the underrecognized last stage of the development ecosystemgame afterlivesthis fast-paced panel spotlights the most vital new work in game history, prese...

After almost 15 years of covering GDC as a journalist, I was on a panel for the first time! Waow. And now you can watch it on the internet.

I talked about game preservation that would likely never happen without the mad dedication of the emulation community -- and, uh, @quest64official.bsky.social

I gushed about space marine 2's multiplayer at the time. just the perfect level of "here's a few maps and modes to enjoy after the campaign, it's cool if you're done with it in a week"

Pragmata is a treat so far. The "Xbox 360-core" impressions were spot on, but not in a nostalgic way. It's just nice to play a focused, gimmicky shooter from one of the big boys.

If it hadn't taken ages to come together, you could almost point to it as a "see, just make more of these again!"

We collectively failed Doom Eternal so hard that id got self conscious about making Doom more interesting, and then made Doom The Dark Ages.

"It's so prescriptive. You have to shoot the grenade into the cacodemon's mouth." Shoot it with a rocket launcher it's faster. Shoot it with the super shotgun, it's also faster. Try it!
