But back then, it was a really big deal. How do I tell them?
I brought them to school the following week and I said to them if you hear something strange about schools, tell me and we’ll talk about it .
I always wonder if that was the right choice and I will never really know .

It’s not hyperbolic to say that there are a few days as a parent that changed my life. One was the Indonesian tsunami in 2006 over Christmas.
Having to explain this to children .
The next was December 13, 2012 .
Now what happened that day has become a part of our lives something that is normal.
I was trying to go over all the anniversaries/ Jahrzeits Grammy was December 3, Leif was December 26, Win was in January. What is on December 13? Why does it feel like a day of the dead? And then I remembered.
What’s happening in NC should be much bigger scandal: gerrymandered GOP legislature stripping power from Dem gov & AG in lame-duck session while Rs trying to throw out 60k votes to overturn Dem victory in state Supreme Court race www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
Sorry about all the typos guys. It’s not possible to edit for me on blue sky until I figure that out.
The greatest failure of the media today is that they don’t understand that WE actually think about this stuff. No one asked us how we are feeling, and how we are dealing with this they talk amongst themselves and argue amongst themselves, it’s pathetic . It’s useless and frankly it’s over.
In the midst of doing this, we know that we may suddenly get a knock on our door in the middle of the fucking night and get dragged out and departed or we know that we may get our neighbor knocking on our door asking if we can hide them in our basement. All of this is incredibly real to us.
What surprising to people who live a life of the mind and don’t deal in the real world is that even though we know it’s gonna happen we still have to live. Yes that’s right. We still grocery shop. We still plan school events for our children. We still celebrate holidays.
Yeah, the Washington Post, New York Times, and everybody in the literati and glitterati and Elise may not be fully processing what’s going to happen other than how it’s going to affect them, but guess what?
One of the most frustrating, recurring themes I see here is “people don’t seem to be fully clear about what’s gonna happen on January 20”
How fucking privilege and separated you have to be from normal society to even makes such a statement ?
I honestly think that’s because the “people“ you were talking about are writing for newspapers, or have good jobs, or aren’t marginalized, ordinary people are fully aware was gonna happen and they’re preparing themselves day by day. The problem is that most people don’t have the resources to prepare
And then chopped off one of her fingers
Almost nobody is confused about what is about to happen to us
I think you’re searching for some kind of over arching moral narrative when most people are literally trying to survive
I’m not saying you’re in a bubble when I hear these kind of statements like I don’t think people are clear I think it’s shocking how unclear you are about how clear people are most normal people know what kind of shit she was gonna go down and they’re just trying to deal with it
I think a lot of people in journalism don’t really understand right now that it doesn’t matter if we’re clear or not the real question is on January 20 when your neighbor comes knocking on their door will you hide them in the basement and then 24 hours later will you drive them to Canada?
How so? Most of my friends are expecting genocidal pogrom. What are you expecting people to say about that? They’re dealing as best they can
Nancy Mace is a weird liar even by Republican politician standards. Odds are good she's gonna implode if she tries to rise above her current office.
I honestly didn't know drones got that big.
Hurrah, indeed.
Trump has nominated Harmeet Dhillon, an aggressively anti-trans pick, for assistant AG for civil rights.
She has already gone after transgender refugee laws in safe states.
God let it be so it would truly be a bright light in the world if they can stick to the word
Democratic New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy signed a law today prohibiting public schools and libraries from banning books and protecting librarians who obey state law.
