The true tragedy lies in the fact that he was elected and permitted to serve as President, leading to the current challenges the world is facing.

Pathways to Work: Reforming Benefits and Support to Get Britain Working Green Paper This consultation seeks views on the approaches government should consider around reform of the health and disability benefits system and employment support.

Details of UK Gov consultation events now out for 'Pathways to Work' - only one event in Glasgow which I suspect will be full pretty quickly. bit.ly/3R5tBrZ

Here he is today, deeply concerned about economic hardship caused by his tariff scheme.

He’s tanking the economy, destroying our standing in the world, depriving women and LGBTQ communities of their fundamental rights, attacking the environment, disappearing legal immigrants, gutting Veteran’s benefits and Social Security. And he’s making you pay for his golf trips while he’s at it.

If you still support Trump after this, you’ve no fecking soul. Shame on you and shame on that excuse of a human being inhabiting the White House.

What does the #SpringStatement mean for you?
The Chancellor’s announcements have major implications for social security, economic growth, and public spending. But what do the changes really mean - especially for people in Glasgow, and for Scotland's third sector?

Cuts to Carers Allowance are part of the #DisabilityBenefits cuts. I now really want to see how @uklabour.bsky.social Scottish MPs respond - if at all.

3/3 In December, we called for a benefits system, that is sufficient, compassionate and which enables people to work where they can – but which also offers a good quality of life for those who can’t. Today’s announcements feel like a step away from, instead of towards, that vision.

2/3 These changes will hinder the city's ambition to reduce child poverty. Our sector will inevitably face increased demand for information and crisis support from individuals and families. This will happen at a time when the #ThirdSector already faces financial challenges.

1/3 Like many of our members, we are dismayed at the planned cuts to social security. These changes will have a devastating effect on people in #Glasgow. This is borne out by the Government’s own impact assessment, which shows more people – including children – will be pushed into absolute poverty.

I’m willing to give Me Carney the benefit of the doubt for now, esp as he got stuck into Trump last night. Our Prime Minister? Less so.

This is the way. Write your pension fund, school, city comptroller and demand divestment from Tesla.

If the US had continued to support Ukraine, we may have been months away from the end of the war. The Russians would not have been able to continue to fight for much longer. They were making almost no progress, taking huge casualties.

There is no question that deep welfare cuts from @uklabourparty.bsky.social will be both devastating and economically counterproductive. Look at the impact of austerity over the last 14 years.
More austerity = more health/social damage = less productivity & more unable to work.
